April 17 2023 - We've updated this article to reflect any changes to the Ghost Writing book in Phasmophobia.
How To Get The Ghost Writing Book In Phasmophobia
The first step to using the Ghost Journal in Phasmophobia is to purchase a Ghost Journal from the in-game store and add it to your loadout.
How To Use The Ghost Writing Book In Phasmophobia
Once you spawn into the van at the beginning of the match, grab the ghost writing book from the equipment shelf and bring it with you into the map. From there, you'll want to find the ghost room with your teammates, using other equipment like the Spirit Box, DOTS Projector, and your own voices to find where the most ghost activity is going on. Once you locate the ghost, throw down the ghost writing book using 'F'.
You can place the book on the floor or on a table, but no matter where you place it, you should make sure it's close to the ghost.
Ghost Writing Book Not Working? Don't Fret
The ghost might take some time to react to the ghost writing book on the floor, so you might want to first try asking some questions out loud to see if it will prompt them to write in the journal.
If you don't get any responses while you're in the room with the ghost, don't give up. Leave the room for a bit and watch the Ghost Journal on a Video Camera to look for Ghost Writing, or just head back to the van or into another room and check back in the ghost writing book later.
That's all you need to know to use the Ghost Journal in Phasmophobia to get Ghost Writing evidence.
