The long-awaited and highly anticipated ARPG from developer Grinding Gear Games is finally released in Early Access on PC and console on 6 December 2024 at roughly 11:00 PST. That's 21:00 GMT+2 or 19:00 UTC for those in the UK/Europe.

While we all knew Path of Exile 2 would be popular, not even the developers thought it would hit the one million redemption milestone before the Early Access launch. With great success, however, comes potential issues.

Taking to social media and YouTube, developer Grinding Gear Games' Jonathan Rogers, the Game Director on Path of Exile 2, kicked off proceedings by thanking fans and announcing one million Early Access redemptions, which basically means one million gamers across PC and consoles have redeemed a Supporter Pack and gained access to the game's Early Access version.

The developer then noted that they want to be honest with their fans and that there might be some queues over the launch weekend. They've already ordered "way more cloud capacity," but they do have some concerns about the backend and are unsure how much their backend services will be able to handle.

If there are server issues at launch, the developers have noted they will work as hard as they can to solve them and thanked fans for the support again.

You can check out the video where PoE2 Game Director Jonathan Rogers talks about this incredible milestone, and gives a warning about possible queues.

Queues, and let's face it, even server issues, are to be expected at the launch of such a huge game. At least the developers are upfront with their fans instead of saying nothing or pretending that there won't be any queues or issues...

Keep in mind that Path of Exile 2 will be free-to-play when it fully launches and that you only need to purchase one of the Supporter Packs (starting at $30) if you would like to play the game in its Early Access state. That makes the one million redemptions even more impressive!
