There are nine element types in Palworld, and each one has its own strengths and weaknesses. Element types occur on Pals and weapons, which means you will always want to prepare correctly for a big fight.
We've found that using a Pal and gun in Palworld with an element strong against a boss-type creature makes fights so much easier, to the point where we never wanted to be on the other end (weak against).
Palworld Elements: Weak & Strong Against Combos
With over 100 Pals to catch and add to your Paldeck, players are spoiled for choice on the Palpagos Island. Both your weapons and a myriad of Pals have elements attached to them, and picking the right element to get the job done against boss-type Pals is paramount to success.
For example, you should use Foxpark (#001), which is a Flame/Fire element type Pal, against those of Grass and Ice element types. However, you shouldn't go hunting Water Pals with Foxpark, as Water is Flame's weakness. Another example we've found is Wumpo, which is a Frost/Ice Pal that is weak against Fire/Flame users such as Foxpark.
Below, you can find a full table of elements in Palworld, alongside what they are strong and weak against.
Palworld Element Type | Weak Against | Strong Against |
Fire/Flame | Water | Grass & Ice |
Electric | Ground/Earth | Water |
Ice/Frost | Fire/Flame | Dragon |
Water | Electric | Fire/Flame |
Earth/Ground | Grass | Electric |
Dragon | Ice/Frost | Dark |
Neutral | Dark | N/A |
Grass | Fire/Flame | Ground/Earth |
Dark | Dragon | Neutral |
At the time of writing, it is unclear if Palworld will get more elements between Early Access and full launch. We do know, however, that the Paldeck will expand from 100 to roughly 200 Pals, so there's definitely room for more elements in the future.
