The v0.172 patch update has arrived for the cozy MMO Palia, which introduced Starstones, new items players can mine from nodes throughout Kilima Village and Bahari Bay. As the Starstones have deep connections to Majiri culture, especially relating to astrology, they provide knowledge into one’s understanding and potentially foretell their fortunes.
Quartz is one of these Starstones that can be mined from nodes; however, players have yet to learn which nodes to mine and how they can be used. We’ve explored Kilima Village and Bahari Bay and reported on how it can be found and used them in Palia.
Where To Find Quartz Starstones In Palia?
Quartz is one of ten Starstones added to the cozy MMO Palia in the latest patch update, v0.172. As detailed in our handy guide regarding Star Paths, these glistening gems are significant to Majiri constellations and astrology as each Villager is assigned a Starstone tied to their constellation.
Starstones function as a physical symbol of their Luna Moon sign or Star Path, as each Starstone, like Quartz, has unique personality traits or qualities that may help Villagers gain a greater understanding of one’s self. Quartz possesses the characteristics of “The Builder,” who is said to be respectful and steadfast in their demeanor and everyday life.
As for how players can obtain Quartz, according to the v0.172 patch nodes, it can be acquired from Mining nodes; however, it wasn’t clear which nodes to mine. Nevertheless, after the update was made live, we acquired Quartz from copper nodes throughout Kilima Village, especially in popular spawn locations.
We were able to mine the medium-sized copper nodes around Fisherman’s Lagoon, which is how we acquired the Quartz. However, as the drops are randomized, there are plenty of medium-sized copper nodes found along the river banks near the Mayor’s Estate and Remembrance Beach, which may also drop Quartz.
How To Use Quartz Starstones In Palia?
Regarding how players can best utilize the Quartz Starstone, developer Singularity 6 has highlighted a few ways it can be used in-game. Firstly, it can be sold through the Shipping Bin found on their Housing plot for 250 Gold each as it’s classified as an Uncommon rarity item.
But another way it will be used is to gift it to Villagers aligned with its associated Star Path and receive unique dialogue once gifted to them. This Starstone is associated with “The Builder” Star Path, in which three Villagers have this specific astrological sign, Chayne, Najuma, and Tish, who are such contrasts of each other yet have remained unwavering in their purpose.
Chayne has always been considered the “Backbone of the Community,” assisting and guiding Villagers in situations regarding religion, hence being a spiritual builder” for the community. Najuma and Tish embody “The Builder” physically, as Najuma is known to be a master tinkerer with her unique abilities in producing inventions and incredible explosions.
Tish is the local carpenter who comes from a family of carpenters who guide players in mastering the craftsmanship of Furniture-Making. When gifting a Starstone to Chayne, Najuma, and Tish, it will be considered a “Loved Gift;” however, it shares the same cooldown period as their Weekly Wants, meaning they can only gift them a Quartz once a week.
Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
