Overwatch 2 Is Available on Xbox Game Pass With Limited-Time Rewards

As previously mentioned, Overwatch 2 is now available for free through Xbox Game Pass starting today, September 17, 2024. Blizzard has added extra incentives to make the transition smoother. For those interested, connecting your Battle.net and Xbox accounts will grant you six exclusive hero skins: Cardboard Reinhardt, Turtleship D.Va, Cyberdragon Hanzo, Street Runner Genji, Bee Mercy, and Cleric Lifeweaver. If you link your accounts before November 11, you will also receive a one-time bonus of 30 Mythic Prisms, which can be used to purchase cosmetics and upgrades from the Mythic Shop.

Additionally, signing up before the cutoff date will give you access to cosmetics from the past three seasons, allowing you to catch up on previously released skins. Game Pass subscribers will also enjoy a 10% XP boost, helping you level up your Battle Pass or climb the competitive ranks more quickly.

However, there is one downside: Overwatch 2 cannot be played on Xbox Cloud Gaming, contrary to some expectations. Nevertheless, it remains available on other cloud platforms like Nvidia GeForce Now and Boosteroid, providing some options for cloud gamers.

How to Link Your Battle.net Account to Xbox Game Pass

If you're ready to connect your Xbox Game Pass account to your Battle.net account to claim these rewards, follow these simple steps:

1. Go to your Battle.net Account Connections page.
2. Check if the Xbox Network account with your eligible Game Pass subscription is listed.
3. If no account is listed, click the +Connect button to start the linking process.
4. Ensure you are linking the correct account, as there are cooldowns on account links. If the wrong Xbox Account is listed and it has been more than a year since the accounts were linked:
   • Click Disconnect.
   • Click +Connect to link the correct Xbox Account.
5. If the wrong Xbox Account is listed and the link cooldown has not expired, you will need to use a different Battle.net Account to link to your Xbox Account.
