Outriders Worldslayer Apocalypse Tier Explained

Outriders Worldslayer is the next big update to 2021's looter-shooter Outriders, adding a brand new campaign, a new endgame, and making several balances to the base game itself, for $35.

Outriders Worldslayer also makes several changes to the game's progression, replacing the World Tier system with something called Apocalypse Tier.

If you're new to the game or haven't played Outriders since it first came out, you may find yourself a little confused with the workings of Apocalypse Tier and how it contributes to your overall game progression. How Outriders Worldslayer Apocalypse Tier works

In Outriders Worldslayer, Apocalypse Tier decides the overall challenge of the game and the rewards you gain for overcoming those challenges. For instance, at Apocalypse Tier 6, you will face level 38 enemies but will have a loot rarity bonus of 500%.

As your Apocalypse Tier increases, so will the difficulty of the game, but in return, you will gain better rewards. The higher your Apocalypse Tier, the higher the chances of gaining Epic or Legendary Gear that is Apocalyptic.

How to increase your Apocalypseier in Outriders Worldslayer

Similar to how it worked with World Tier in the base game, Apocalypse Tier increases as you progress through the game. To unlock the next Apocalypse Tier, you have to play the game at the highest Apocalypse Tier currently available. There is also an option for the game to auto-set the highest apocalypse tier available every time you unlock a new tier.

Your Apocalypse Tier determines the quality of the loot you obtain. If you just want to experience the story and are not looking for any challenge, you can always downscale your Apocalypse Tier. However, doing so would significantly impact the drop rate of Epic and Legendary Apocalyptic Gear.
