Square Enix’s latest RPG, Outriders, releases on Thursday of this week, and many gamers are excited to get their hands on the new looter shooter.
Promising to be something fresh to the genre, there is a lot for players to get their teeth into including a brand new world to explore, the World Tiers and the expansive crafting system.
However, among all of the new and innovative features, there’s one that fans would like to see at launch more so than others.
The feature is a “transmogrification” system, which basically gives players the ability to change their armour’s look to match their appearance or other armour pieces. It’s an extremely popular system in games like Diablo, Destiny and World of Warcraft.

Unfortunately for fans of Outriders, the RPG will not have a transmog system at launch.
According to an interview with the developers, the system will not be in place when the game releases on 1st April. Game director Bartosz Kmita stated that “at the release of Outriders, there will be no transmogrification yet.”
While this is disappointing for fans of the feature, the developer did give some hope. He went on to say that the developers could “add it in later.” There is precedent for something like this happening, as Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla implemented a transmog system well after its initial release date.

So it seems that though Outriders players won’t be able to fully customize their armour’s look at this time, perhaps an update is coming later that would open this avenue. If transmog ever does come, it should give even more longevity to Outriders.
