The Outlast Trials might be adding a new familiar Prime Asset, a teaser from a current challenge in the game suggests. Fans noted on Reddit that one of the challenges in the currently ongoing Outlast Trials Prime Time event requires players to break some televisions throughout the trial. One of the televisions depicts a black and white picture of an unidentifiable person, and some have pointed out that the person on the screen could be the next Prime Asset coming to the game.
Others noted that the person on another screen looks like Laird from Outlast 2, one of the game's antagonists who's known for sitting atop Nick Tremblay. Some speculate that both characters could be coming to the game together.
"I do wonder if [the next Prime Asset] might be a "duo" like Nick and Laird," one Reddit user suggested.
Still, even others think that the new Prime Asset could be Franco, a character who's been rumoured to fill the role for a few months after leaks surfaced.
The Outlast Trials confirmed in a March roadmap that a new Prime Asset would be coming in Summer 2024, making fans' theories that it could be the person (or people) on the screen seem even more likely:
However, nothing is confirmed about the identity of the Prime Asset coming this summer quite yet, and some suggest that the person depicted on the screen might just be a Murkoff Worker rather than the next Prime Asset.
While it seems increasingly likely that the people depicted on the game's screens might be the next Prime Asset - and that they might even be familiar faces to fans of the franchise like Nick or Laird - fans will just have to wait and see what comes of this interesting possibility.
If developers stick to the roadmap, it's likely that we'll hear something in the next few months about the identity of the next Prime Asset in the game, whether it's Nick and Laird, Franco, or another totally new character. Regardless of their identity, the addition of a new Prime Asset is sure to shake up the game; there are currently only two Prime Assets in the game, Mother Gooseberry and Leland Coyle, and many players have been hankering for a new character for some time.
