How To Change Your Appearance In Nightingale

Creating your character and setting foot into the Fae Realms is an important step in Nightingale. You'll need to craft your character's appearance, as well as their background, and even their lineage if you want. If you're anything like me, you spend far longer than you should in character creation, but what you see in the creator is often very different to how it appears in-game.

So if you've made it out of character creation only to find that you're not quite happy with your character in-game, you might be wondering: how can I change appearance? 

Can You Change Your Appearance In Nightingale?

Sadly, there's no way to change your appearance after you've created your character in Nightingale. At least, not yet anyway. With the game still being in early access, there's likely plenty of changes and features to come. At the time of writing, however, changing your character's appearance after starting the game cannot be done.

The same goes for your class and background. Both of these aspects are locked in once you've finished your character creation, so be sure to choose wisely. All is not lost, however. It seems the option to change certain aspects could be coming to Nightingale in the future:

An in-game message appears when you first start up character creation, which reads, "Appearance options cannot be changed after finalising for now, though we plan to add support for this in the future."

Players can still craft cosmetic items, such as capes, and armor pieces to be equipped to their character, which changes their appearance somewhat. So we still have options.

Nightingale is available to play on PC via Steam and The Epic Games Store. The game launched in early acess on February 20, 2024.
