As one of the series' main protagonists since its inception, Liu Kang is known for his fierce flying kicks and mastery of fire intertwined in his martial arts. As a newly appointed god, Liu Kang has recreated the entire universe to his liking, bringing a range of unique and classic fighters into the universe to fight once again.

Liu Kang first debuted in the original Mortal Kombat and has remained a series staple ever since. Below you'll find all the current basic attacks, special moves, and finishers for Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1.

Full Move List for Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1

If you've ever seen players fighting in a Mortal Kombat game with a red blur flying across the map, that's likely Liu Kang. He's a former monk, becoming the winner of the last Mortal Kombat Tournament and ascending to become the God of Fire, protector of Earthrealm, and the current Keeper of Time.

While Liu Kang is likely completely ready to ship, his moves, their inputs, and anything else could change between the release of the pre-order beta and the release of the full title on Sept. 19. There will also likely be finishers and potentially other combos unlocked through playing different modes or an unlockable system through currency like in previous games.

In the following list, "forward" refers to the direction toward your opponent while "away" is the opposite direction. For specific inputs for each kick, punch, and more on your specific console or controller, look in the "Kontrol" section of your pause menu.

Brutalities

Liu Kang deals the devastating damage that players have come to expect with his dangerous martial arts skills, but as the God of Fire, he's also incorporated even more flames. It will be interesting to see why the conflict has arisen in his new realm and the other fighters who are potentially forced to stand up to him in Mortal Kombat.

Players will be able to play Liu Kang in his complete god form when Mortal Kombat 1 releases next month on Sept. 19, available five days early for those who decide to pre-order.
