It looks as though Mortal Kombat 1 will have something to reveal at New York Comic Con after all.
Some fans were recently left disappointed when Creative Director Ed Boon Tweeted on October 1 to clarify that an Omni-Man gameplay trailer will not be happening at NYCC.
However, in a follow-up tweet posted earlier this week, Boon has since added: "....but that's not to say we are showing nothing."
New York Comic Con is taking place right now, from October 12 to October 15, but quite what the team at NetherRealm Studios could reveal is up for debate. Arguably a cinematic for Omni-Man would make sense, and perhaps Boon's tweet was more to clarify it won't be gameplay, but for now, we'll just have to wait.

For those wondering why Omni-Man is the central focus right now, it's largely due to the fact that a Mortal Kombat 1 DLC cinematic reveal has already happened, and Omni-Man is the first DLC character planned to release. We know this because Boon confirmed at San Diego Comic Con that Omni-Man is the first DLC character joining the Mortal Kombat 1 roster.
Whilst a release date for Omni-Man hasn't been confirmed so far, based on prior NetherRealm and Mortal Kombat games, the first batch of DLC content tends to drop roughly a month after release; and given Mortal Kombat 1 launched on September 19, we're fast approaching that date.
Of course, the reveal could be related to the second season of Mortal Kombat 1's Invasions mode, with Season 2 set to kick off on November 2. Fingers crossed though it's something a little more interesting.
