The Mobile Awards, the world’s premiere mobile-related awards organisation, is proud to unveil the launch of the mobile-centric awards ceremony The Mobies. With the aim to uphold excellence in the mobile industry, the Mobies will host an annual ceremony starting in 2023 to celebrate and recognise top-class performance and innovation. To kick off the launch, the Mobies are asking the community to vote for categories that they want to see recognised.
Founded by team behind the Esports Awards, the industry-acclaimed award ceremony watched by over 20 million people each year, the Mobile Awards is a new initiative with the aim to document, recognise, and reward excellence in the mobile industry.
Spearheading the Mobies is Founder and CEO of bayz, Matt “MobileMatt” Rutledge, a mobile esports veteran, and previous Director of Mobile Gaming at Complexity Gaming, one of America’s most elite and longest-standing esports organisations.
The Mobile Awards’ goal is to promote one of the fastest-growing international industries with talented panel members from various countries across the globe.
Every year, the Mobies will recognise players, teams, media, hardware providers, games, events, and personalities within the industry.
The Mobies will first focus on highlighting the esports and gaming industry with long-term plans to shine a light on all corners of the mobile industry.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be spearheading such an innovative and important project. The mobile industry is ever growing, and touches so many people worldwide.” commented Matt Rutledge “The Mobies will serve as a ground zero for lifting up talented individuals, organisations, and initiatives in the mobile industry. Watch this space for more exciting announcements in the coming months,”
Mike Ashford, CEO of the Esports Awards added “This project will serve to give the rapidly growing mobile industry its own voice in the awards-sphere. We are absolutely delighted to have this project hit the ground running, and look forward to showcasing the wide variety of talent next year at the inaugural Mobies in 2023.”
