Ubisoft is bringing its popular looter shooter franchise, The Division, to mobile devices via a brand new entry called The Division Resurgence.
Similar to the first game, The Division Resurgence will take place in the post-apocalyptic open world of New York, now overrun by a new enemy faction called The Freemen.
Players can craft their own characters, complete missions and side activities to level up and acquire new loot, and grind the end game content for that ideal build.
The Division Resurgence is a free-to-play mobile game that will be coming to iOS and Android devices. Alongside the reveal trailer, Ubisoft has also revealed details on the game's release date and its upcoming closed alpha. Here's everything we know about it.
The Division Resurgence release date
Following in the footsteps of mobile adaptations like Diablo Immortal and Apex Legends, The Division Resurgence will feature all the bells and whistles of the franchise's past entries on PC and consoles.
The Division Resurgence will release in 2023. Ubisoft has yet to provide a concrete release date or a release window for the game though fans should expect more info this year. As for the closed alpha, Ubisoft says that it's "just around the corner."
How to register for The Division Resurgence closed alpha
Below are the steps to register for the closed alpha of The Division Resurgence on iOS and Android devices.
- Access Ubisoft's official website.
- Click on the Register tab.
- Fill up the survey.
- Choose the platform of choice.
- Await confirmation.
Invited players will have to sign an NDA to not disclose or share any information about the closed alpha, including screenshots and videos. They will also get access to a private forum and a Discord server to talk to the devs and other players.
To register for the closed alpha of The Division Resurgence, players must complete a survey, which asks a bunch of intriguing questions in-regards to other live-service and mobile games. For instance, the survey wants to know whether the player is familiar with or has played games like Diablo Immortal, Call of Duty Mobile, Genshin Impact, and Destiny.

Completing the survey should give players an idea of what to expect in The Division Resurgence monetisation-wise, things like the battle pass, in-game cosmetic purchases, and more.
Diablo Immortal became the latest free-to-play mobile title to have a controversial microtransaction model, and fans would not want The Division Resurgence to follow in its footsteps.
Either way, it's too early to discuss whether The Division Resurgence will feature a consumer-friendly microtransaction system or not.
The Division Resurgence gameplay
The Division Resurgence’s a recreation of the original Ubisoft cover game on PC and console, downsized to fit players’ hands. The gameplay is quite similar to its other port counterparts but suits mobile with its smooth animation, tuned sound and graphic design, and refined user interface.
The Division Resurgence features an open-world map of New York. Because of its size, players can study the world using the minimap tool to find the task to complete or explore endlessly.
There are classes providing unique specializations, abilities, skill trees, and many ways to play while adding a strategic layer to The Division Resurgence. For example, Demolition Experts can utilize grenades and practically most explosives for clearing areas or fending off enemies.
