We haven't heard much regarding the development of Marvel's Wolverine from developer Insomniac Games (Sunset Overdrive, Marvel's Spider-Man series, Ratchet & Clank) since the game was announced in 2021. While we did receive an early development trailer showcasing the famous mutant Wolverine, that was seemingly the last we've heard or seen until the Insomniac leaks of 2023.

As devastating as the leaks were, there were some behind-the-scenes (BTS) activity that occurred at Insomniac Games based on recent reports. It's being reported that there were some staffing or personnel changes at the studio, which a new Creative Director was appointed to oversee and review the game design as it's still in development as of writing.

In the latest report on Game File from Stephen Totilo on 31st October 2024, he revealed that two sources had confirmed that there's a new Creative Director for Marvel's Wolverine as Brian Horton had exited the project "since the summer." Horton had previously served as Creative Director for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which was released in 2020, before moving to Marvel's Wolverine but has left this post.

Totilo further reported that Horton landed "a new high-profile gig" as the Creative Director for the forthcoming Xbox release Perfect Dark in development at The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics. While Horton will be assisting these teams on Perfect Dark, the Creative Director post has been filled at Insomniac, with Marcus Smith filling the position and Mike Daly revealed as the game director.

Daly took over the role from Cameron Christian, who was the previously announced game director, but according to Totilo, Christian remains at Insomniac "in a different role." These recent staffing changes at Insomniac's Wolverine dev team, as reported by Totilo, resulted in the "creative decisions around the game," which he concluded that a Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) representative has "declined to comment."
