Marvel Snap is one of the most fun and addicting card games ever to be released. The gameplay is both surprisingly easy to pick up but with a lot of depth for those looking to become masters of the game. One of the biggest draws to Marvel Snap, aside from its gameplay, is its artwork. Each card in Marvel Snap has a compelling and captivating design. The characters themselves, the backgrounds, and even the card's name are all given so much care and attention by Second Dinner Studios, and it really shows.
As you continue to acquire cards and expand your collection, you may have come across something known as a card Variant with the same abilities but different artwork to a card you already own. This article will cover everything you need to know about Variants in Marvel Snap.

What Are Variants In Marvel Snap?
Variants in Marvel Snap are essentially skins for your cards. It's clear the team behind Marvel Snap knows how incredible their artists are, as tons of cards will have Variants printed with different artwork. These Variants have the same stats and abilities as their original counterparts, so you don't have to worry about collecting a ton of Variants to stay competitive. Variants will take existing characters and place them into different scenarios or art styles purely for aesthetic effect.
These cards are a way for you to personalize your account. Considering every player will acquire all cards eventually just by increasing their Collection Level, unique and limited Variants are a way for you to show off your favorite cards or brag to your friends. Variants are considered different cards, which is both a good and a bad thing. The good news is that they can be upgraded again, giving you more opportunities to increase your Collection Level. The bad news is that if you have already spent resources upgrading the original version of the card, these upgrades will not transfer over.
How To Get Variants In Marvel Snap
Variants, like skins in other games, are premium items purchased with the game's premium currency. It is possible to receive some Variants via promotional events, login bonuses, or other means, but most Variants will need to be bought with Gold in the shop.
Alternatively, some Variants will also appear in Bundles in the shop. These Bundles can either be purchased with Gold or directly using real money. This is how Marvel Snap intends to make its money, considering there are no card packs for sale. The artwork had to be good for a business model like this to be successful, and thankfully it is!
