Marvel Snap's Spotlight Caches are designed to not only be a quick and easier way for players to acquire Series 4 and Series 5 cards but are also as a way for new players to 'catch up' by acquiring some recently released cards. If you're interested in learning more about Spotlight Caches, this article will cover everything you need to know about how they work in Marvel Snap.
Marvel Snap Spotlight Caches Explained
Marvel Snap Spotlight Caches will appear once every ten Collector's Caches/Reserves you open and have the chance to pull several Spotlight cards. These Spotlight cards will be made up of:
- One new Series 5 card
- One spotlighted Series 4/5 card
- One spotlighted Series 4/5 card
- One random Series 4/5 card
These cards will rotate weekly, meaning players will need to plan ahead if they want to acquire all the rewards. Thankfully, once a card is obtained from a Spotlight Cache, it will be removed from the pool of rewards, thereby increasing the chances of obtaining the other rewards. Once all rewards are obtained, players will have the chance to open limited-time variants for the Spotlighted cards.
This system seems good on paper and provides players with direct access to new cards. Additionally, players have a chance to open the cards they want right away and back to back. A large percentage of the player base will get very lucky with this new system. However, this system will be replacing Gold and a large chunk of Collector's Tokens that used to be found on the Collection Level tracker.
Additionally, players will need to horde a ton of Spotlight Caches if they wish to obtain the limited-time variant for a specific card, and it becomes almost impossible to acquire all the available limited-time variants unless you are spending a lot of money. However, the limited-time variants themselves appear to be more of a reward for Collection complete players and less of a new variant type that players should strive for.
