Marvel Snap's November 2024 season, the "War of the Nine Realms," continues into the new week with another new card release awaiting Snappers at the Bifrost Bridge. The intimidating and equally ferocious beast, Fenris Wolf, is making its in-game debut for the current season, which possesses incredible power to give life back to high-Powered cards destroyed or discarded.
Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) may be familiar with this ferocious Asgardian beast who has only made one epic live-action appearance going head-to-head with The Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok, but how powerful will it be in Marvel Snap? We'll look at this Asgardian beast in this guide by previewing its card ability, key synergies, important counters, and best decks featuring Fenris Wolf for Marvel Snap.
Marvel Snap Fenris Wolf Card Abilities Explained
This ferocious Asgardian beast is finally ready to unleash its savagery in Marvel Snap, as Fenris Wolf is the next spotlighted card release for the week. Upon its release, Fenris Wolf is a two Cost and three Power card with an Activate ability to resurrect their opponent's highest-Powered card that was destroyed or discarded on their side of the location.
Currently, the Destroy and Discard archetypes are few of the strongest in-game, and with the release of Fenris Wolf, this card synergizes with both archetypes. Regarding deckbuilding, Snappers will want to specifically target their opponents' highest-Powered cards even though it's unclear if Fenris Wolf looks at a card's base or effective power like Knull, so Fenris Wolf may favor Discard rather than Destroy.
Nevertheless, Snappers looking to bolster their decks with Fenris Wolf can acquire the card from the Spotlight Caches by spending Spotlight Keys during its release week. Alternatively, they can spend 6,000 Collector's Tokens, purchase the card from the Token Shop, and add Fenris Wolf to their Collection.

As previously stated, Snappers will want to approach deckbuilding by pairing key synergistic cards with Fenris Wolf, ensuring their opponent's highest-Powered cards are destroyed or discarded. As the Discard archetype may make it easier for Snappers to guarantee that their opponent's highest-Powered card is discarded and then resurrected with Fenris Wolf, how can the Destroy archetype achieve this?
A few cards can achieve this, namely Yondu, Shang-Chi, and Cannonball, in which the latter card can move the highest-Powered card away from its location and, if not possible, destroy it with a Rock. While Cannonball may be less reliable than Yondu, especially with specific counters in play, we can look to Yondu's most dependable deck, Mill-style decks like the one spotlighted by Marvel Snap counter creator ReZ Snapper.
If they want to target a high-Powered card with Yondu, they'll be more inclined to play Yondu a little later, but with Grandmaster, they can retrigger Yondu's ability or use Gladiator to snuff it out before playing Shang-Chi to destroy it. On the final turn, the opponent would be more likely to play a high-Powered card, which playing Leader ensures that another high-Powered card gets copied to their side of the board.

Aside from Mill decks, if Snappers wish to include Cannonball with Fenris Wolf, they will want to look at clogging their opponent's location/s, forcing them to play their high-Powered cards at other locations, making Cannonball and Shang-Chi feel more valuable. This will allow Snappers to guarantee Fenris Wolf at resurrecting their highest-Powered card destroyed by Cannonball or Shang-Chi and possibly triggering their abilities again.
Few cards are key in helping Snappers clog their opponent's location/s, for which we have this Cannonball clog-style deck from Marvel Snap content creator dddrewsky to thank. In the early turns, we can see The Hood, Fenris Wolf, and Kate Bishop being played, especially if Kate Bishop generated the Acid Arrow card to send to their opponent's location before playing Viper to switch The Hood over.
Further clogging up their opponent's side of the board, they can play Green Goblin, Debrii, and Doctor Octopus, which should see at least one location full before focusing on another location to play Shang-Chi or Cannonball to destroy their highest-Powered card. They can trigger either card's ability again with Misery before activating Fenris Wolf on the final turn with the resurrected card on their side of the board to secure a win unless they play Annihilus to get a location priority.
Best Marvel Snap Fenris Wolf Decks: The Wolf And The Knight
The final spotlighted deck is a Discard deck, which is Fenris Wolf's best synergistic home with a few cards that can target high-Powered cards. As high-Powered cards tend to be six Cost cards, Moon Knight is the best synergizing card for Fenris Wolf, as Moon Knight's recent reworking specifically targets even Cost cards (two, four, and six Costs).
Opponents who may be running Fenris Wolf in their decks to prevent their high-Powered cards from being discarded, the key is hoping Moon Knight targets Hela to prevent the card from being played. While this specific deck from Marvel Snap content creator Ankh doesn't have high-Powered cards for them to play Shang-Chi to destroy, it may be a well-suited deck to play since their opponents are likely going to target M.O.D.O.K. or Apocalypse.
This is due to the inclusion of Scorn and Apocalypse, which returns to their hand, while Morbius and Dracula will hopefully be on board, which could see them targeting M.O.D.O.K. instead once their Fenris Wolf is activated. Without M.O.D.O.K., Snappers will need a handful of Discard cards like Blade, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, and Lady Sif to discard theirs, while Gambit will destroy an opponent's card in play, which can be Fenris Wolf if that's the only card their opponent has played by Turn 3.
