Marvel Entertainment announced some exciting news for fans and players of NetEase Games' superhero team-based PvP shooter Marvel Rivals. Together with their publishing arm at Marvel Comics, the superhero team-based PvP shooter will finally be depicted across the pages of Marvel Comics in its first physical release in Marvel Rivals #1.
This comic book's announcement was made on the official Marvel website on 17th January 2025, and the news was later shared to the official Marvel Comics HQ and Marvel Rivals social media accounts. The first issue will be going on sale this year so that Rivals fans and players can reserve their copy at launch.
According to the official statement posted on Marvel.com, this new "one-shot" inspired by Marvel Rivals brings together "all six issues" of the digital Marvel Rivals Infinity Comic series as a singular physical release for the first time. Marvel Rivals #1 is confirmed to be written by Paul Allor with artwork drawn by Luca Claretti, the same duo who had worked on the six-part Marvel Rivals Infinity Comic series.
"The saga depicts an epic battle between two squads of members pulled from the original roster of playable characters, including iconic heroes like Spider-Man, Captain America, and Wolverine, along with breakout stars like Luna Snow and Jeff the Land Shark! Combining the breakneck action of the game with classic Marvel Comics storytelling, it’s a must-have for fans who wish to dive deeper into the thrilling world of Marvel Rivals," the official announcement post reads.
Additional information accompanied the announcement post which this "one-shot" comic book will be available for retail on 2nd April 2025, and a variant cover artwork by Federico Sabbatini was unveiled alongside the announcement.
