There are a set number of staple moves and actions when it comes to the Madden franchise.
From the stiff arm to the celebration dances on the way to the endzone, players have a number of ways to show off in Madden. However, perhaps the oldest and most well-known move in the franchise is the spin.
Simple, yet elegant and devastating if pulled off correctly, the spin move is a cornerstone of many longtime players’ arsenal of moves.
Whether you’re streaking downfield and need to get past one defender or trying to make something happen at the line of scrimmage, the spin is usually a good idea most of the time. Of course, there are situations when it shouldn’t be used. But players need to know how to actually perform a spin move before they can decide what’s the right time to use it.
Performing a spin move in Madden 22
To keep it simple, players can perform a spin move by tapping B on Xbox or Circle on PlayStation. Players need to be running for this move to have any effect but a simple tap is all it takes to pull off a spin move.
Though, the dynamics behind the spin move are a little more complex than that. For starters, players can determine the direction of the spin by moving the right stick on either an Xbox or PlayStation controller. If you turn the stick clockwise, your player will spin left. If you turn the stick counter-clockwise, the player will spin right. If you want to go this route for your spin move, then you don’t need to tap B or Circle.

This method is especially helpful when running down a sideline or trying to get past an oncoming defender. If the defender is coming from your right side, you can spin left to avoid him instead of spinning right into the defender’s arms. However, for players just starting out, simply pressing the button input is the best choice, as it allows you to see the mechanics of the spin move.
Spins can be extremely lethal in Madden 22 but should be used with caution. If used incorrectly, it can lead to fumbles or hard hits from an oncoming defender. Players can go into an Exhibition game or the training modes to practice their spins before trying them in an online match.
