Lost Ark South Vern – How to unlock, endgame content, more

Lost Ark's April content update, Battle for the Throne of Chaos, sees a host of new content, including new character advanced classes, endgame content and events to keep players grinding in April. In addition to this, the world of Arkesia introduces a new continent, South Vern, in the content update with new adventures awaiting you.

With the arrival of a new location comes new in-game lore, endgame activities and the main story questline for you to complete. This guide explains when South Vern will be released, its in-game lore, endgame activities and more in Lost Ark.

Lost Ark South Vern – Release date

According to the developer blog post from Smilegate, the South Vern continent is arriving with the April content update, Battle for the Throne of Chaos. After the maintenance period ends on 21st April 2022, players can navigate to the game's Steam page to install the update before launching the game and accessing the latest content.

Lost Ark South Vern – How to unlock

The South Vern continent will be added as the second Tier 3 endgame location, which requires a specific Item Level requirement to start your journey. To unlock South Vern's Tier 3 endgame activities, you'll need to complete the Punika main story questline, which subsequently unlocks the Chaos Dungeons for Tier 3.

After that, you can start completing the daily endgame activities, including Chaos Dungeons, two Guardian Raids and the events available through Procyon's Compass. Una's Tasks have daily and weekly activities, not forgetting the weekly Abyssal Dungeons runs and the Anguished Isle daily event.

While completing these activities, don't forget to use the materials earned from them to upgrade your gear, which will increase its Item Level requirement. This should help get you to reach the Item Level required to access all the Tier 3 endgame content.

We also recommend you invest in ranking your alternate character to help accelerate your Tier 3 progression, granted you have a character in this tier. Having an alternate character will significantly help as you can feed all the necessary upgrade materials to your main character.

Lost Ark South Vern – Location and endgame activities

The South Vern continent is situated in the middle of Arkesia, with North Vern as its neighbour east of South Vern. The Wall of Procyon is north of South Vern, and the Tempest Seas are just south of the continent.

Developer Smilegate has revealed some content with the new location for players to start working on. As you'll be exploring the history and mystery surrounding South Vern, there is a new main story questline to complete and new endgame activities, which will be included as part of the Tier 3 content.

You must have an Item Level requirement of 1340 to start progressing through the South Vern endgame content. The endgame activities planned for South Vern are new Chaos Dungeons, Field Boss and Chaos Gate, which will arrive in a future update.

Furthermore, these activities mentioned above will be set on the normal difficulty for which a separate Item Level requirement of 1415 is needed. The developer also correctly a previous statement which stated that Thunderwings and Chaos Gate activities would be available with the South Vern launch; however, this is arriving in a later content update.

Lost Ark South Vern – In-game lore

Smilegate delved into some of the in-game lore surrounding South Vern, which will give players insight into what they can expect from the area's main story questline. Previously a desert region, however, working together with other races and using their technologies allowed them to turn South Vern into a place known for its "abundant waters and green pastures".

Nevertheless, there's something that aims to disrupt its tranquil environment. "Hearing rumors of the dangers that plagued North Vern, the Senate shut South Vern down and formed a new knightly order. Suspecting that something was amiss, Ealyn, the Queen of Vern, ordered Knight Commander Avele to investigate," Smilegate detailed in a developer blog post.

Through exploration and progressing through the South Vern questline, you will meet new characters as you uncover the secrets that could bring chaos to South Vern.
