Honkai Star Rail Can't Link Google Play Account Issue

Honkai Star Rail is a cross-platform game that can be played on both PC and mobile devices. The main benefit of this is that players can log in to Honkai Star Rail from wherever they are. Whether you want to play portably during your morning commute or settle in for the night on a gaming PC, Honkai Star Rail's versatility is one of its key selling points. Unfortunately, several players have reported issues with Honkai Star Rail concerning its cross-platform capabilities. The main issue is not being able to link one's Google Play account on a PC. 

Honkai Star Rail had a pre-registration period where the game could be downloaded from the Google Play Store and pre-installed. During this time, lots of players linked their accounts via Google Play. However, the dedicated Honkai Star Rail PC client seems to have several issues linking these accounts, meaning players will not be able to carry over any progress between PC and mobile. Honkai Star Rail: Can You Link Google Play Account To PC?

At the time of writing this, it is not possible to link your Honkai Star Ral Google Play account to your PC. Naturally, this has a lot of players upset that they will not be able to play Honkai Star Rail cross-platform. If you have not progressed very far in Honkai Star Rail, it is recommended to create a HoYoverse account, as HoYoverse accounts can be logged into both via PC and mobile.

Alternatively, you will need to create another email address in order to play on a PC. However, progress will not be saved between these two accounts. Honkai Star Rail is a very time-consuming game, and playing one account requires a lot of dedication, meaning keeping two accounts running at once would be quite difficult. 

For players who have progressed far into Honkai Star Rail or rerolled for hours to get the perfect five-star character, sticking with your one account might be the best way to proceed. Honkai Star Rail runs incredibly smoothly on mobile devices, and the UI is very intuitive. We know this isn't what players want to hear, but these are the only two options at the moment. 

It is unknown whether HoYoverse will do anything to remedy this issue in the future, but considering the game has been out for quite a while now, and no news on any update regarding Google Play accounts has surfaced, it is safe to assume there is no patch coming anytime soon.
