Jing Yuan is one of the first limited banner units available to summon in Honkai: Star Rail.  Jing Yuan is the general of the Xianzhou Alliance's Cloud Knights, and alongside his trusty Lightning Lord, he is ready to rain destruction down on his enemies. Players will need 180 pulls to guarantee a copy of Jing Yuan which should be the second limited banner after the launch (after Seele). Thankfully, players should have enough currency to guarantee to add Jing Yuan to their collection if they start saving from the get-go.

Best Jing Yuan Build In Honkai: Star Rail

Jing Yuan is an AOE damage dealer able to deal additional damage thanks to his accompanying Lightning Lord. This Lightning-Lord also takes a turn in battle separately from Jing Yuan. With a focus on Lightning element damage, Jing Yuan is able to mow through Lightning-weak enemies with ease.

For these reasons, it is recommended to build Jing Yuan with as much ATK damage as possible. This is beneficial for Jing Yuan's abilities but also because the Lightning-Lord's damage scales are based on Jing Yuan's ATK stat. 

Honkai: Star Rail Jing Yuan Abilities

• Glistening Light (Basic ATK): "Deals 50% of Jing Yuan's ATK as Lightning DMG to a target enemy."
• Rifting Zenith (Skill): "Deals 50% of Jing Yuan's ATK as Lightning DMG to all enemies and increases Lightning-Lord's attack count by 1 for the next turn, up to 10 attack(s)."
• Mercy at Your Expense (Ultimate): "Deals 120% of Jing Yuan's ATK as Lightning DMG to all enemies. Lightning-Lord's next action has 1 additional Enhanced ATK(s) (not included in Lightning-Lord's attack count). Lightning-Lord's Enhanced ATK's DMG Multiplier is increased by 60%."
• Extinguishing Body and Soul (Talent): "Summons a Lightning-Lord at the start of battle. Lightning-Lord has 60 base SPD and an attack count of 3. Lightning-Lord's attack deals 30% of Jing Yuan's ATK as Lightning DMG to a random enemy, and 35% of the DMG dealt to the enemy as Lightning DMG to adjacent targets. Every time Lightning-Lord's attack count increases by 1 (including Enhanced ATKs), Lightning-Lord's SPD increases by 10. After the action has ended, Lightning-Lord's SPD and attack count return to their original values. When Jing Yuan has fallen, Lightning-Lord will disappear. When Jing Yuan is unable to take action, Lightning-Lord will also be unable to take action."
• Incomplete Combustion (Technique): "After using a Technique, at the start of the next battle, Lightning-Lord's attack count in the first turn is increased by 2."

Honkai: Star Rail Jing Yuan Best Light Cones

The best Light Cone for Jing Yuan in Honkai: Star Rail is Before Dawn. This Light Cone is specifically designed for Jing Yuan and has the following ability:

Before Dawn: Increases Energy Restoration Rate based on the CRIT Rate of the wearer, up to a max of 12%. After using Skill, the wearer's CRIT Rate is increased by 16% for 1 turn."

  • 2 Piece: Lightning DMG increases by 10%.
  • 4 Piece:  Increases Jing Yuan's ATK by 25% for 1 turn after Jing Yuan uses Skill.
• Musketeer of Wild Wheat:
  • 2 Piece: ATK increases by 10%.
  • 4 Piece: Jing Yuan's SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG by 10%.

In order to maximize Jing Yuan's Lightning damage output, it is recommended to run a four-piece Band of Sizzling Thunder set. However, Musketeer of Wild Wheat is a universally great offset for damage dealers. 

Honkai: Star Rail Jing Yuan Eidolons

Each character in Honkai: Star Rail comes with six Eidolon levels. These are Jing Yuan's:

1. Slash, Cliffs Severed: When Lightning-Lord attacks, the DMG Multiplier on enemies adjacent to the target increases by 25%.
2. Phalanx, Suns Blocked: After Lightning-Lord's action, DMG caused by Jing Yuan's Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate is increased by 20% for 2 turn(s). 
3. Strike, Light Shattered: Ultimate Lv.+3, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1 up to a maximum of Lv. 10
4. Blase, Stars Felled: Each time Lightning-Lord attacks, Jing Yuan regenerates 3 Energy. 
5. Veteran, Death Conquered: Increases Jing Yuan's skill level by three (capped at 15) and his Basic ATK level by one (capped at 10).
6. Spell, Foes Vanquished: For a single action, Lightning-Lord's attack also makes target enemies vulnerable. Vulnerable enemies receive 12% more DMG until the end of this attack. Stacks up to 3 times(s)
