Hogwarts Legacy, the upcoming "Wizarding World" game, has been confirmed to be Steam Deck Verified when it launches globally on 10 February 2023 for PC and next-gen consoles. The game will also be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch at a later date. This confirmation brings good news for Steam Deck owners, who can now play the game on their handheld device with the same quality and experience as on a PC.
In a 12 January 2022 post on Twitter, the official Warner Bros. Games Support account wrote, "We reached out to the Hogwarts Legacy team [...] and were able to confirm that the game WILL be Steam Deck verified on launch" after responding to a query by another Twitter user.
It goes without saying that enthusiasts of J.K. Rowling's acclaimed Harry Potter franchise have eagerly anticipated the release of Hogwarts Legacy since it was first announced in 2020. In fact, despite being weeks away from its official release, the game is already listed among the top sellers on Steam, making it one of the most anticipated gaming titles released this year.
As a result, the confirmation that the game is listed among the slew of other Steam Deck Verified titles is expected to make the decision to purchase the game a lot easier for consumers, especially given the rising popularity of Valve's new handheld gaming device.
For those uninitiated, Hogwarts Legacy is being developed by Avalanche Software and is a "Wizarding World" simulator that allows players to immerse themselves in the world of Harry Potter.

In other news, Warner Bros. Games recently released details on the graphics modes and specifications for Hogwarts Legacy. Specifically, the game will have multiple graphics modes for gameplay on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, including Fidelity Mode, which runs the game at 30 FPS, and Performance Mode, running at 60 FPS.
Additionally, the publisher has released separate support pages outlining how to enable Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for either PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S consoles.
Hogwarts Legacy will release globally on 10 February 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. The game will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 4 April, followed by a release on Nintendo Switch on 25 July.
