Witches and wizards looking to explore the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry can do so on PlayStation consoles when Hogwarts Legacy launches in February 2023. However, the PlayStation 4 version will release on 4th April 2023, alongside the Xbox One version.
Nevertheless, those looking to play on PlayStation are hoping to spot the game’s listing via the PlayStation Plus service, but will it be available? We explore if there will be availability for Hogwarts Legacy for PlayStation’s subscription service.
Will Hogwarts Legacy Be Available On PlayStation Plus?
As for whether the game will be made available via the subscription service, PlayStation Plus remains to be seen as of writing. There has yet to be a confirmation from developer Avalanche Software, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, or Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) if Hogwarts Legacy will be available.
This is due to comments made by Sony CFO Hikori Totoki during an Investors Call in May 2022, according to Video Games Chronicle (VGC), that the company won’t include first-party and AAA releases to the service at launch. PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan later echoed this in a March 2023 interview with GamesIndustry.biz, who shared his thoughts on mimicking similar functionalities present with Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service.
Currently, there’s no listing for the game for Xbox Game Pass; it may be possible that the game could be available later, possibly once the Xbox One version launches. Regardless, those who pre-order Hogwarts Legacy on either PlayStation 4 or 5 can receive exclusive platform content, including the following:
- Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest
- Hogsmeade Shop
- Shopkeeper cosmetic set
- Felix Felicis potion recipe
Additionally, pre-order the physical or Digital Deluxe Edition of the game to get the Onyx Hippogriff mount as a bonus and the Thestral mount and Dark Arts cosmetic set. Lastly, you can receive three days of Early Access; however, this only applies to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions.
