At this point in the game, players will have already come across the first way to get Moonstones by using the Evanesco spell during the unlock quest to vanish items. Doing so will refund you a specific amount of Moonstones, so if you feel that specific items in your Room of Requirement are useless or just taking up space, use the Evanesco spell to remove them and get refunded with Moonstones.

You can also find Moonstones as you explore the vast world of Hogwarts Legacy, areas such as rocky crags, caverns, and ruins. They will usually emit a faint blue light, so if you're hunting them down, be sure to look out for that. To mine them, simply use spells such as Accio to free them, and you'll amass a decent amount of them in no time. You can also find Moonstones in the Vivarium room within Hogwarts, so when you check up on your Fantastic Beasts, be sure to grab them while you're there. 

Using a Material Refiner to Create Moonstones

This option lets you passively create Moonstone and is useful for the busy mages among us. To do it, simply purchase the blueprint from the Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade for 2,000 gold, then place the Material Refiner down in your room, which costs x15 Moonstone. 

These devices do generate some decent return on profit as you'll likely get a few Moonstones every 10 minutes or so, so be sure to check it frequently and collect your resources. Combining this with your other Moonstone farming methods, you'll easily stack up enough to modify your Room of Requirement in any way you see fit.
