A Twitter user going by the handle ManwithSecrets_ recently uploaded images from the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy companion artwork book. The images not only revealed how beautiful and vast the Wizarding World truly is, but they also shared secrets that left the dedicated community both surprised and angry.
One leaked image provided the entire scope of the game’s map highlighting all locations in and surrounding Hogwarts and the neighboring Hogsmeade to explore. At the same time, players are advised to be wary of the recent leak and view it at their discretion.
Nevertheless, based on previous reports and leaks, the game’s original map design was reduced by a quarter, with various areas and locations not available at the game’s launch.
These include areas covered by the swamps and the Highlands region, which is reported to be “blocked” off as they won’t be “playable.”
The rumored Hogwarts areas and locations included in Hogwarts Legacy are:
- Clock Tower Court
- Clock Tower
- Gryffindor Tower
- Defense Tower
- Astronomy Tower
- South Tower
- Main Entrance
- Transfiguration Court
- Library
- Corridor
- Central Tower
- Gardens
- Potions
- Viaduct Bridge
- Viaduct Court
- Boathouse
- Entrance Hall
- Great Hall
- Grand Stair
- Slytherin Dungeon
- Ravenclaw Tower
- Faculty Tower
- Hufflepuff Commons
This was according to a Reddit moderator for the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, Spheromancer, who also stated that depending on game sales, these areas could be included in an expansion pack for Hogwarts Legacy. Additionally, you can fly around or over Hogwarts Castle, but it’s suggested that you won’t be able to do so in Hogsmeade, but reasons were not provided.
Aside from the apparent map leak, additional details regarding the game’s story campaign were also provided, invoking some negative responses. Depending on which house you’re assigned to following the Sorting Ceremony, they each have separate story progression on “individual” quests in the main campaign but should arrive at a similar result.
However, it’s noted that a particular house will have its students able to visit Azkaban, but no confirmation as to which house this could be. It was also suggested that they are three side quests connected to the main story campaign, possibly one for each house, but the fourth connected to the Ravenclaw house was cut.
One Redditor commented that this might be because the Ravenclaw house could have greater importance in the main campaign. At the same time, they were confused as to why the developer gave Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin received side quests and not Ravenclaw.
Lastly, while it’s been confirmed that a weather change/seasons mechanic is to be included with the game at launch, the developer revealed during the Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay Showcase last month that it has a greater significance. As you progress with the main story campaign, this will directly impact the in-game weather system, citing its use as “a narrative marker” with key moments signifying the change of season.
