Hogwarts Legacy is perhaps the most anticipated game to be released this year, having already crushed sales on Steam. The game promises a magical experience, featuring nearly everything Harry Potter fans might be familiar with already. That said, if you're looking to start your magical journey at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, you'll first need to choose a wand in Hogwarts Legacy.
While wand lore dictates that "the wand chooses the wizard," it doesn't always mean that the holder will be satisfied with its newfound magical allegiance. As a result, it's only natural that would-be witches and wizards alike might ask themselves: "Can you change your wand in Hogwarts Legacy?" Fortunately, we have the answer!
Can You Change Your Wand In Hogwarts Legacy?
Unfortunately, players cannot change the wand for their characters in Hogwarts Legacy. Warner Bros. Games confirmed this in response to the question: "Do you get to choose a different wand in your (sic) not happy with your given choice." Accordingly, the company said that switching wands and Hogwarts Houses for any particular character is not possible after the Sorting Ceremony. Instead, players must create an entirely new character in Hogwarts Legacy.
That said, it's important to note that players who have chosen their house and wand early by linking their Wizarding World account to Hogwarts Legacy will be able to change their wand again during the Sorting Ceremony in-game. However, this exception only applies to players who took the Sorting Ceremony and Wand Ceremony quizzes on the Wizarding World website!
