Team17, the development studio behind World War 2 FPS, Hell Let Loose, have revealed that the game will launch on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series of consoles on 5th October.
The game, which was given a full launch on PC earlier this year, after over a year in early access, is has just finished a closed beta on both consoles.
As an online multiplayer World War 2 simulation, at launch players will be able to play as either the American or German forces on realistic maps based on historic battles from the Western Front including Hürtgen Forest, Sainte-Mère-Église, and Utah Beach.
Each side of 50 players is broken down into armour, infantry, and recon, led by officers with a direct line to an overall player-commander directing the flow of the game.
Later in the year, the Eastern Front expansion, already available on the PC version, and which adds Stalingrad and Kursk to the map pool, will be added as a free update.
Eyebrows were raised from PC players when a console version was announced, the game puts realism first; more Red Orchestra than Call of Duty, and there were fears that the game could slowly move to fit console players sensibilities, however, initial feedback has been positive with many commending console players for recognising the need for teamwork in the game.
Alongside the reveal trailer, Team17 also announced that pre-orders for the Xbox Series X|S had begun with those that do earning The Silver Vanguard cosmetic bundle.
An open beta for the PlayStation 5 version was also announced with those that own the console able to take part between 16-20th September.
