Halo Infinite's lack of Slayer-only playlist frustrates fans

Halo Infinite's multiplayer beta (essentially Season 1) was unleashed by Microsoft and 343 Industries on 15th November 2021, ahead of the game's official 8th December release date in a not-so-surprising move. Hundreds of thousands of bloodthirsty Spartans are already enjoying the game, despite some known issues and bugs. In a recent article, we've outlined all the game modes per playlist and map for Halo Infinite, at which point one thing became abundantly clear --- there is no Slayer-only playlist.

Fans are not happy about the omission of a Slayer-only playlist in Halo Infinite, nothing how this is unacceptable and calling on the developers to add one.

Halo Infinite Slayer-only playlist request

For those new to the Spartan life, the Slayer game mode is basically Deathmatch, with the team/player boasting the most kills at the end of a match being declared the winner. 

Halo Infinite has four playlists at launch, namely Ranked Arena, Bot Bootcamp, Big Team Battles and Quick Play. None of these allows players to just pick the Slayer mode.

Due to the lack of a Slayer-only playlist in Halo Infinite's multiplayer beta, Spartans have to face the reality that they need to participate in objective-based game modes such as Capture the Flag and Strongholds. 

One Redditor created a thread explaining that: "I honestly feel like the lack of option to choose between Slayer and Objective is unacceptable. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that from a AAA title.

"I almost never have fun playing Objective without my friends, so when I'm solo I just want to play Slayer. I can't believe the game launched without the ability to choose between Slayer and Objective."

It appears many players simply don't want to be forced to play a game mode they don't enjoy, which does make a whole lot of sense.

Reddit user xRaen noted that this is their "#1 issue right now", explaining that: "All else can be forgiven, but I don't have any fun with CTF. I just want to shoot dudes."

Keep in mind that players had the option in previous Halo titles to choose a Slayer-only option, which is probably why some Spartans are causing a ruckus right now.

At the time of writing, developer 343 industries have not responded to the "requests" for a Slayer-only playlist. 

Keep in mind that playlists for Halo titles do change over time, and giving those bloodthirsty Spartans the option to just play the Slayer game mode might not be the worst idea ever.
