Halo Infinite's multiplayer has changed significantly since its surprise launch last year. For one, the progression is much better, rewarding players with a hefty amount of XP for completing every match.
343 Industries has also made sure to add plenty of free new content, such as the limited time Fracture: Tenrai event and winter contingency event. The next such event in line is called cyber showdown, and while 343 hasn't revealed much info themselves, here are some leaked details that are sure to make fans excited.
Halo Infinite cyber showdown release date
According to a notable Halo Infinite leaker, HaloNoticiasMX, the cyber showdown event will kick off on the 18th of January and last until the 31st of January. As mentioned before, 343 has not yet confirmed this date, so players should take this information with a grain of salt.
Halo Infinite Cyber Showdown rewards
Cyber showdown is a free-for-all event, and, as such, players should expect to earn free exclusive rewards. Allegedly, there will be a 10-tier reward in cyber showdown similar to how it was in winter contingency. These consist of new weapon and armor skin, weapon charm, armor visor, AI color, backdrop, stance, two armor FXs, one of which boasts an incredibly cool mohawk.
Halo Infinite Cyber Showdown new game modes
Cyber Showdown will also bring new game modes to Halo Infinite. These include returning game modes from classic Halo games as well as brand new ones. According to HaloNoticiasMX, the game modes confirmed for cyber showdown are:
- One flag
- Attrition
- King of the hill
- Slayer
- CTF
The lack of game modes and playlists in Halo Infinite is constantly criticized by a fraction of the Halo community, and while 343 has been hard at work addressing these issues, there's still a lot of work to be done.
Sure, some of these are already in the game, however, it's nice to have a sort of confirmation that no playlists will be sacrificed to make room for new ones when more seasonal events roll around in Halo Infinite.
Now, if they could only add ranked Slayer, that'd be great.
