If you have not heard yet, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy is now out on Steam for everyone to buy. As a result, almost all of the acclaimed titles in the GTA franchise can now be played on the platform, which is fantastic for those who are fans of the series. This is coming off nearly the same timeframe that the GTA Trilogy launched on the Epic Games Store.
But in the past, the GTA Trilogy was plagued with bugs, glitches, performance issues, and so much more. So that begs the question, is the GTA Trilogy worth buying on Steam? Here, we will go over why you should or should not consider buying the GTA Trilogy on Steam based on what users have said and what we know about the game.
Should I Buy The GTA Trilogy On Steam?
The short answer is no, you should not buy the GTA Trilogy on Steam. Although fans have been waiting for remasters of some of the older GTA games, these games do not do the series justice. Although they are the same exact games as they were in the past, the games just simply do not work well.
Users have reported that even if they are using a 3080, they will get anywhere between 50-160 FPS during gameplay. On top of that, Rockstar has not indicated that they intend to fix or update the games at all. Somehow, the Steam version of the game is still the same buggy mess as its previous releases on consoles. But, the game is already 50% off on sale on Steam. So it might be worth purchasing for a much lower price, but definitely not for the full price.
Will GTA Trilogy On Steam Have Better Performance?
It is very unlikely that you will have improved performance on the Steam version of the GTA Trilogy. The game seems to have a major FPS issue that players cannot seem to get around no matter how powerful their PC is. And that indicates a bigger problem because it is not like the GTA Trilogy is that graphically demanding.
However, there are some users that claim that the Trilogy is actually performing better on Steam compared to the console version. It is kind of a mixed bag of reviews and to be on the safe side, you might want to avoid this Trilogy on Steam until Rockstar gives the Trilogy a full bug wipe.
