GTA Online Cops & Crooks DLC: Release Date Speculation, News, Leaks & More

In the entire series of Grand Theft Auto, the police were always the opposition to every character you played. Whether you were playing the original Grand Theft Auto story or now in GTA Online, you never truly sided with the police. But players have always been curious to see what it would be like to play as police in GTA Online.

It could be possible soon to play GTA Online as a police officer. As the holiday season approaches, the possibility of a new DLC increases, which includes the long-lost Cops and Crooks DLC for GTA Online. Here, we go over when that DLC might release for GTA Online.

GTA Online Cops & Crooks DLC Release Date?

GTA Online is alive and well, and there is plenty of DLC for the game. The game has changed dramatically since its original launch and one of the biggest changes players are waiting for is the launch of the Cops and Crooks DLC. When this DLC launches, it will mark the first time players can become cops in GTA Online.

The Cops and Crooks DLC would split the server into two or three factions. Players completing heists as a crook would be chased down by players who are playing as cops. It is basically cops and robbers but with the GTA twist.

Right now, there is no confirmed release date for the Cops and Crooks DLC. The Cops and Crooks DLC was supposed to release three years ago, but it seems to have been scrapped by Rockstar Games. It is unclear why the DLC has been scrapped.

GTA Online Cops & Crooks DLC Leaks

Over time, the information we have gotten for the Cops and Crooks DLC seems minimal. But thanks to data miners, we actually have new information about the Cops and Crooks DLC.

Twitter user WildBrick is a well-known GTA Online data miner. They posted that on PC, and there are still files for a 2012 iteration of cops and crooks gang territories. The data shows the map having areas of the map filled in with various colors representing the Cops, The Vagos, and The Lost MC.

This pre-dates the Cops and Crooks DLC when GTA Online was going to be about controlling territories in the game. But the fact that this data is being found now is interesting. Could it be that the Cops and Crooks DLC is coming soon? It is unclear without direct confirmation from Rockstar Games, but it is definitely something worth noting.
