What is the Kagotsurube Isshin sword in Genshin Impact?

The Kagotsurube Isshin or the Cursed Sword is the latest weapon in the Genshin Impact 2.8 update, Summer Fantasia. While the weapon won't be referred to as the Cursed Blade in-game, this weapon has a long-standing history with the Kaedehara Clan, with Kazuha being its surviving member.

According to the game's lore, the legacy of the Kagotsurube Isshin sword has been "stained with many a dark deed on its home-bound journey" to snow-covered land in the far north of Teyvat, likely being Snezhnaya. In contrast, the weapon may not be well-suited for Kazuha beyond the weapon's corruption but due to the weapon's desire to obtain the highest levels of lethality.

What are Kagotsurube Isshin's weapon stats and abilities?

• Rarity: 4-star
• ATK Stats: 42 - 510
• Secondary Stats: 9% - 41.3% ATK

Factoring in the weapon's lore and Kazuha's Story questline, the Kagotsurube Isshin is not the primary weapon for the character as many were previously alluded to. Instead, the weapon has a strong connection to the Kaedehara Clan through their schools, with the Akame school being the creators of the famed sword.

During the Story Quest, it's noted that the sword doesn't harmonize well with Kazuha as the weapon art sought to bind the wielder's mind to the sword itself. As Kazuha's demeanor is the opposite of this weapon, few have speculated that the weapon would fit in the hands of Fatui Harbinger member, Scaramouche, making future encounters between these characters less hostile.

The Kamisato siblings, Ayato and Ayaka, Jean, and Qiqi, are also characters that are likely to benefit from this weapon's Attack scaling. While it may not be the best ATK scaling weapon in-game, it's still worthy consideration as it is a 4-star sword.

Aside from its base ATK and ATK sub-stats, its Special (or Passive) Ability, Isshin Art Clarity, lets the wielder deal AoE DMG equivalent to 180% of ATK and increase their ATK by 15% for eight seconds when performing the Hewing Gale skill. This can be achieved when performing a Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack on enemies.

How to get the Kagotsurube Isshin sword in Genshin Impact?

As mentioned earlier, the Kagotsurube Isshin sword can be obtained as a reward for completing Kazuha's Story Quest event, "Acer Palmatum Chapter: Act I – A Strange And Friendless Road." More specifically, Travelers will need to have completed the third part of this quest, "Ere the End, a Glance Back, " to trigger the reward.

The main objective of this quest is for Kazuha to enter a testing domain to try out the recently discovered cursed blade, the Kagotsurube Isshin. Once the sword releases itself from its host, you'll need to defeat waves of enemies and defeat Amenoma Yuuya to obtain the weapon.
