Being one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful gacha-based roleplaying games from last year, Genshin Impact offers around forty playable characters with more in line to release. The main attraction of Genshin Impact is its music, story, open world, gameplay, and it's characters.  

New players often get overwhelmed by the fact that Genshin Impact offers around forty unique playable characters, even though the game is only 20-30% complete. One question that many players have is that who are the best characters in Genshin Impact?.

In this guide, we will talk about ten Genshin Impact characters who we think are the best characters in the entire game. Keep in mind that different people have different opinions and playstyle. So, even if your favourite character is not present in this list, it doesn't mean they are not good. Because, in the end, it depends on how you build your characters.

With that being said, let us check out the best characters in Genshin Impact. 

Ganyu 

Among all existing bow users, Ganyu is the one with the highest DPS potential. The speciality of Ganyu is her charged attacks and her elemental skill that increases the Cryo DMG bonus. Ganyu's charged attacks have two levels. 

The second level shot deals AoE cryo damage when it comes into contact with the target. Moreover, the scalings on her charged attacks are insane. And with the help of artefacts like Wanderer's Troupe and weapons like Amos Bow, players can make Ganyu into an incomparable DPS character.

Eula 

Eula is another DPS character in Genshin Impact who has the most elegant attack animation. Her elemental burst, Glacial Illumination, can deal damage in millions. Meanwhile, her elemental skill, Icetide Vortex, can reduce the Physical and Cryo Resistance of the enemies. 

Eula is not a team player. She can only help her team by destroying the enemies in one fell swoop on the battlefield.

Hu Tao 

Hu Tao is a greedy DPS character who is more efficient in dealing with single target enemies with high HP. Her elemental burst Spirit Soother allows her to deal an insane amount of damage which can even one-shot most of the bosses present in the game. 

The lower Hu Tao's HP is, the more powerful is her elemental burst. To get maximum damage from Hu Tao's elemental burst, players can use her signature weapon, Staff of Homa, the Crimson Witch artefact set and team composition that includes Sucrose, Mona, and Bennet.

Bennett 

Bennett is one of the best, if not the best four-star characters in Genshin Impact. He can heal teammates, buff their ATK, and can apply pyro when needed. 

Moreover, both of his elemental abilities have less cooldown and energy requirements when compared to some other support characters. Players can spam Bennett's ultimate again and again, making the fights a lot easier.

Raiden Shogun 

The recently added Raiden Shogun has been a hot topic in the Genshin Impact community for quite some time now. During her initial leaks, people didn't like her character design. Some even compared her with one of Liyue's NPCs.  

But, when miHoYo officially revealed her for the first time, during Genshin Impact 2.0 "The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia" trailer. The Genshin Impact community became a fan of the Raiden Shogun. 

After her release, we saw the Genshin Impact community divided into two parts. One side said that Raiden Shogun is perfect and she is a good character. Meanwhile, the other side complained about her DPS capabilities. And the fact that she can't proc chain lightning from Beidou's elemental burst.

Ignoring all the drama surrounding the Raiden Shogun and using her for weeks. We can say that just like the other archons, the Raiden Shogun's elemental burst outshines many other five-star characters in the game.

Zhongli  

There are no explanations needed as to why Zhongli is one of the best characters in Genshin Impact. His elemental skill Dominus Lapidis produces the strongest shield in the entire game. Moreover, its damage absorption scales with Zhongli's HP. 

It reduces enemies physical and elemental resistance, and it is the ultimate form of defence in the entirety of Genshin Impact. Players can tank almost every attack with Zhongli's Jade Shield on.

Venti 

The Anemo archon Venti is one of the most useful support characters when dealing with mobs or clearing the Spiral Abyss. His elemental burst, Wind's Grand Ode fires off an arrow made of countless coalesced winds, creating a huge Stormeye that sucks in objects and opponents and deals continuous Anemo DMG.

While farming mobs in the open world for materials, or grouping enemies in the Spiral Abyss, Venti is the best character who can get the job done.

Kazuha

Kazuha is one of the many characters that the Genshin Impact community ignored saying, that "he is a support", "his kit is not good", "he is not a DPS character," and other reasons only to spam the Genshin Impact Twitter handle with "Kazuha re-run when?" once his banner was gone. 

Kazuha is one of the unique playable characters, all thanks to his playstyle. He is the best character for shredding enemies defence, for infinite climbing terrains, for constant swirls and elemental reactions and for showing off to your friends.

Xingqiu

Similar to Bennet, Xingqiu is another four-star character in Genshin Impact who can fit in almost any team composition, thanks to his versatile elemental burst. 

His elemental skill Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen decreases damage taken from enemy attacks. Meanwhile, increasing resistance to interruptions. Combining Xingqiu's elemental skill or burst attack with a Cryo user can help players constantly freeze the enemies. Players can use it to deal with some of the most annoying enemies like Ruin Hunters, Ruin Guards, etc.

Kamisato Ayaka

Kamisato Ayaka is a great DPS character. Her charged attacks deal good damage to multiple enemies at once. Her elemental burst Kamisato Art: Soumetsu deals continuos cryo damage. Overall, there is nothing bad about Ayaka's normal attacks or elemental abilities. 

However, that is not the reason why we added her to this best characters list. We think she is one of the best characters because she can apply cryo whenever players want. Her alternate sprint Kamisato Art: Senho is one of the best abilities that come in handy while crossing water bodies or while dealing with hydro based enemies. Ayaka also resonates well with characters like Yoimiya. She can also be used for creating melt reactions to deal big damage.
