Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 Flat Mode Coming to PS5 and Steam

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2's Flat Mode is coming to PS5 and Steam on 20 June, the game's developers, Steel Wool Studio, have announced. The highly-anticipated flat mode will be included for free with a purchase of the game in VR mode, and those who already own the game in VR will also get the game for free.

If you're not familiar with how VR games work, "flat modes" of VR games allow players to enjoy the game on their monitor, without the help of a VR headset. This means that even players without VR headsets will finally be able to experience FNAF: Help Wanted 2, a game that was previously only available through VR. Players will be able to download it on both PS5 and on PC through Steam.

Steel Wool Studios announced before the game went live that a flat version would be ready in Spring 2024, putting the upcoming update just behind the studio's projected schedule. Developers also fulfilled their previous promise to make the game available on Oculus Quest back in May, making the game available on even more platforms. 

Help Wanted 2 will not be the first Five Nights at Freddy's VR game to get a flat mode; the original Help Wanted also has a flat mode, letting players dive into the action on their PCs without the help of VR.

In other Five Nights at Freddy's news, the second FNAF movie is well into development, and even recently got a December 2025 release date. There's a ton going on with the franchise right now, from major updates to existing games like Help Wanted 2, to new games in development like Five Nights at Freddy's: The Pit (which recently got its very first trailer), and the upcoming second movie.
