The last FFXIV: Endwalker patch, patch 6.2, was released back in 2022, and players have been eagerly awaiting the release of a new patch since then. Thankfully it sounds like Square Enix has finally answered Final Fantasy fans' prayers, as they set an official release date for the next patch. It's sure to be full of brand new content, interesting features, and updates to existing gameplay mechanics that both new players and veterans will love.
Publisher Square Enix confirmed that the FFXIV Patch 6.3: Gods Revel, Lands Tremble will go live on 10th January 2023, about six months after the release of the last Final Fantasy patch, Patch 6.2.
Patch 6.3: Gods Revel, Lands Tremble is the third major content expansion released for Final Fantasy 14. The patch will include continuations to Final Fantasy 14's main scenario quests, as well as swathes of other new content. For example, players can access a new Alliance Raid Myths of the Realm stage, explore a new dungeon called Lapis Manalis, and more.
In addition to those major additions to the Final Fantasy 14 world, players will be able to enjoy new sidequests, obtain fresh new items including mounts and minions, and explore new neighborhoods to improve the game's housing.
Part of the game's housing updates include auto-demolition for some estates players have not accessed in a long time, which has been a controversial topic in the Final Fantasy 14 community for some time. While some believe the system will help the game's housing crisis, allowing more users to find homes, others see it as a "money grab."
Only time will tell whether this update is seen as an overwhelmingly positive one; while many players are excited about all of the new features coming to the game, the decision to automatically demolish estates has some players wondering if they'll return to the game ever again.
That's all we know right now about the next FFXIV patch, patch 6.3, including its release date as well as all of the content and new features that will be included within.
