Electronic Arts Inc. and Fédération Internationale de Football Association have announced the launch of the EA SPORTS⢠FIFA 20 Global Series on The Road to the FIFA eWorld CupTM.
The nine-month long competition will allow millions to compete for over $3 million, as the expanded Global Series sees more than twenty of the world's biggest football leagues running local events for residents to sign up and compete in. This 'road' to the FIFA eWorld CupTM will require competitiors earn EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series Ranking Points at marquee live events through online qualification in a climb to reach one of 128 seats, split 64-64 between Playstation 4 and Xbox One, at the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series Playoffs.
The top sixteen players on both PS4 and XB1 will then make it through to the FIFA eWorld CupTM and get the chance to become the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 World Champion.
The next World Champion will follow in the footsteps of Mohammed "MoAuba" Harkous, FIFA 19 World Champion who won at The O2 in London and is now nominated for Esports Console Player of the Year at the Esports Awards 2019.
A full schedule of upcoming events has been released, highlighting the FIFA eNations Cup, various EA FUT Cups, which are EA Majors with open qualification, and the pathway to the FIFA eWorld CupTM.
Former U.S. Menâs National Team player Jimmy Conrad, current EA SPORTS FIFA competitor and content creator Mike Labelle and notable esports commentator and host Dan Gaskin will be giving a rundown of the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series later today on the official EA Esports FIFA Twitch channel as part of a kickoff show.
This show will go live today (7th October) at 19:00 GMT / 15:00 EST and is set to include some special superstar guests as more details are revealed about the upcoming season.
