FIFA 22 FUT Champions: Format, rewards, ranks, and how to qualify for Play-Offs and Finals

The release of FIFA 22 as early access for EA Play users has brought with it a large wave of players, eager to discover all new features this instalment has to offer.

While some of these are focused on aspects such as the gameplay and the aesthetics of the game, one of the most important has been for FUT Champions, a mode where players from all over the world compete every week for valuable prizes and competitive prestige.

Although since its arrival this game mode has been one of the most relevant in FIFA’s competitive, it has been the target of much criticism due to its exhausting format, which forced users to play up to 40 games in just three days, just for a chance to finish in good rank and earn better rewards.

Thus, with the launch of FIFA 22, FUT Champions has received a complete overhaul in its format, becoming a competition divided into two main stages: Champions Play-Offs and Champions Finals.

Champions Play-Offs: Format, how to qualify and rewards

In past FIFA instalments, all players could directly qualify for the Weekend League by playing a series of games in Division Rivals, earning a certain number of points needed to secure their spot.

Now, with the arrival of this new format, each Division Rivals game you play will help you earn Champions Qualification Points depending on your current division. Each victory will award you the following points:

Once you accumulate 1,500 Points, you will automatically qualify for Champions Play-Offs.

In Champions Play-Offs, you will have to play a series of nine games which will determine your rank, as well as the rewards you can obtain and in the best case, qualify directly for Champions Finals.

Each victory in this phase will give you four points, and in turn, each loss will only award one point. Below you will find each of the rewards, along with the points needed to qualify for each rank:

  • Rank 1 (32-36 points): 1 x Jumbo Gold Pack, 2 x Rare Gold Packs, 1 x Mega Pack, and a Champions Finals Qualification Token.
  • Rank 2 (24-31 points): 1 x Gold Players Pack, 2 x Premium Gold Players Packs, and a Champions Finals Qualification Token.
  • Rank 3 (16-23 points): 1 x Gold Players Pack, and 1 x Premium Gold Players Pack.
  • Rank 4 (8-15 points): 2 x Jumbo Premium Gold Packs (untradeable).

If you finish between Rank 1 and 2 and obtain the Champions Finals Qualification Token, this can be used on the weekend of your choice, giving you better options in case you want to try to obtain a specific Red Player Pick.

Champions Finals: Format and rewards

Champions Finals will have a format quite similar to the Weekend League in FIFA 21, however, all qualified will only have to play a total of 20 matches throughout the weekend.

As in the Play-Offs, each victory will award four points, while the losses will only award you one point, but, these matches will only be playable between Friday to Monday, while the Play-Offs will always be available.

One of the biggest changes will be with the new tiers of this stage since instead of being staggered from Bronze to Elite, Champions Finals will have six ranks with various rewards at stake.

  • Rank 1 (68-80 points): 2,000 Champions Qualification Points, 105,000 coins, 2 x Premium TOTW Packs, 1 x Ultimate Pack, and 3 x Red Player Picks (1 of 5, untradeable).
  • Rank 2 (56-67 points): 2,000 Champions Qualification Points, 60,000 coins, 1 x Mega Pack, 1 x Premium TOTW Pack, 1 x Jumbo Rare Players Pack, and 3 x Red Player Picks (1 of 5, untradeable).
  • Rank 3 (44-55 points): 1,500 Champions Qualification Points, 35,000 coins, 1 x Premium TOTW Pack, 1 x Jumbo Rare Players Pack, and 2 x Red Player Picks (1 of 4, untradeable).
  • Rank 4 (32-43 points): 1,000 Champions Qualification Points, 15,000 coins, 2 x Mega Packs, 1 x Prime Gold Players Pack, and 2 x Red Player Picks (1 of 4, untradeable).
  • Rank 5 (20-31 points): 500 Champions Qualification Points, 10,000 coins, 1 x Jumbo Premium Gold Pack, 1 x Premium Gold Players Pack, 1 x Prime Gold Players Pack, and 2 x Red Player Picks (1 of 3, untradeable).
  • Rank 6 (8-19 points): 500 Champions Qualification Points, 5,000 coins, 2 x Jumbo Premium Gold Packs, 1 x Prime Gold Players Pack, and 1 x Red Player Pick (1 of 3, untradeable).

After you finish all of our matches, or the Champions Finals period ends, you will get all of your rewards instantly, so, if you grind through all 20 matches in one session, you can get your prizes faster rather than wait until Monday.
