Zenimax Online, the studio behind the popular MMORPG, Elder Scrolls Online, may be gearing up to reveal its next game soon, at least if a new report from Windows Central's Jez Corden is anything to go by.
According to Corden, Xbox is planning to hold an Xbox Direct event later this month featuring more "intimate" updates from highly anticipated titles like Redfall, Minecraft Legends, and the next Forza Motorsport.
Interestingly enough, Corden mentioned that this supposed event will also feature "content from ZeniMax Online Studios." While there weren't more details, chances are the "content" Corden mentioned could be in regard to Zenimax's unannounced new IP.
Speaking on Product Builders podcast, creative director Ben Jones recently revealed that the studio has been working on a new game for about four and a half years with nearly 200 devs on the project. Not much is known about this new IP, however, as of this writing, except that it's being worked on a new in-house engine.
Four and half years is a long time and a new game announcement doesn't seem too far-fetched. Of course, the said Zenimax-related announcement at this Xbox Direct event could also be about the next chapter in the Elder Scrolls Online.
Zenimax's studio director, Matt Firor, revealed in the ESO's year-end letter that the "global reveal event" for the next chapter will be in January. If that's the case, Zenimax could reserve the new game announcement for Xbox and Bethesda's big E3-style showcase in June.
