FromSoftware has announced Elden Ring: Nightreign, a thrilling new spin-off that promises to take the beloved Elden Ring universe in an exciting direction.
Revealed at The Game Awards, this standalone, co-op-focused game is set to launch in 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Unlike its predecessor, Nightreign focuses on cooperative multiplayer action, allowing players to team up in groups of three to face the creeping dangers of a world that shifts with every session. Set in a parallel universe to Elden Ring, the game will feature familiar environments, and gameplay elements like sites of grace and Evergaols - all the while introducing new terrifying bosses, as well as some old ones.
As pointed out by PushSquare, fans have spotted The Nameless King from Dark Souls 3 appearing in the footage.
From what is known so far, players will be required to survive a three-day-and-night cycle, battling through changing maps and facing off against powerful bosses. The story revolves around the mysterious Nightlord, whose reign threatens the land, but teamwork will be key.
While solo play is an option, this looks like far more of a co-op game than anything we've seen from the developer before.
