While the default settings might be good for most players, adjusting the College Football 25 sliders can bring the game closer to realistic football. If you feel like certain aspects of the game aren't quite right, either from a player controlled player perspective or when the CPU is operating on their own, a few changes might make a huge impact. With that in mind, we'll go over our College Football 25 realistic sliders and explain how you can fine tune things for your own experience.

How to Setup Realistic College Football 25 Sliders

Years have passed since the former NCAA franchise was last seen, but players are already identifying some key changes in the College Football 25 sliders that help bring about a more realistic experience. You can edit this easily by going to Game Settings from the main menu in College Football 25 and editing the Player Skill and CPU Skill tabs.

If you're already using an active Dynasty Mode or Road to Glory save before making these changes, keep in mind you will have to edit that save as well. Once you've got them setup in primary Game Settings, players can also enter Gameplay Sliders from an existing save and press Y (on Xbox) or Triangle (on PlayStation) to import the custom sliders you've setup directly to that save.

For those who would rather not bother with setting each one manually or making your own adjustments, you can also head to the Download Center from the Create and Share tab. Jump to sliders, and you'll see some realistic sliders uploaded by other players which are already becoming highly downloaded. If those don't fit just right, you can always make some small tweaks later on, reset to default, or try the ones we'll outline here.

For this particular batch of College Football 25 sliders, we've used some inspiration from Matt10's CFB 25 Sliders, DangerousFeeling's Realistic Gameplay & XP Sliders, the heavily downloaded Realistic Sliders in the Download Center from ProSimHQ4107, and some adjustments of our own based on several hours of play. These may still adjust as Title Updates for College Football 25 make tuning changes throughout the year, so be sure to follow those creators later in the year if you feel your custom sliders have suddenly stopped working as well following an update.

Realistic Game Options & League Settings

If you're accessing these from the Main Menu they'll be Game Options, but to adjust them in an existing Dynasty or Road to Glory save you need tab over to RTG Central or Dynasty Central and edit League Settings. A few of the ones we've listed will only be accessible from Game Options while others will need to be changed in League Settings. You won't be able to import these, so they do need to be set at save creation or edited manually in any existing saves.

  • Skill Level: Varsity
  • Coach Firing: On
  • Coach XP Speed Setting: Faster
  • Injury: On
  • Wear and Tear: On
  • Quarter Length: 8 Minutes
  • Accelerated Clock: On
  • Minimum Play Clock Time: 15
  • Auto Flip Defensive Play Call: On
  • Defensive Ball Hawk: On
  • Defensive Heat Seeker Assist: Off
  • Defensive Switch Assist: On
  • Injuries: 15
  • Fatigue: 55
  • Player Speed Parity Scale: 50

The biggest change some players may wanna make is Quarter Length. If you're looking for shorter games that are still challenging with some clock management, try 3 Minutes for Quarter Length with Accelerated Clock set to Off.

As a note, the sliders we have built are meant for those playing on Varsity. Matt10's sliders were built specifically for Heisman Difficulty, and DangerousFeeling's sliders include both All-American and Heisman setups, so players on either of those difficulty settings may prefer their sliders.

Player Skill Sliders

First up, adjusting Player Skill will affect how successful you are when controlling a player. For Road to Glory, that means that Player Skill specific to your position will have the biggest impact on how that gameplay feels.

Here are our realistic Player Skill sliders for College Football 25:

  • QB Accuracy: 60
  • Pass Blocking: 55
  • WR Catching: 48
  • Run Blocking: 45
  • Ball Security/Fumbles: 50
  • Reaction Time: 60
  • Interceptions: 40
  • Pass Coverage: 60
  • Tackling: 60
  • FG Power: 52
  • FG Accuracy: 45
  • Punt Power: 55
  • Punt Accuracy: 55
  • Kickoff Power: 50

CPU Skill Sliders

Next, the CPU Skill sliders will affect how any CPU controlled player performs in College Football 25. These do have some impact on Super Sim in Dynasty, but tuning fixes are also coming in a future update for that specific mechanic.

Here are our realistic CPU Skill sliders for College Football 25:

  • QB Accuracy: 40
  • Pass Blocking: 52
  • WR Catching: 55
  • Run Blocking: 40
  • Ball Security/Fumbles: 43
  • Reaction Time: 55
  • Interceptions: 35
  • Pass Coverage: 45
  • Tackling: 55
  • FG Power: 45
  • FG Accuracy: 45
  • Punt Power: 55
  • Punt Accuracy: 50
  • Kickoff Power: 50

Penalties Sliders

While this is an area some players won't address, you also have the option of adjusting the College Football 25 sliders for how frequently (or infrequently) specific penalties are called by the referee. If you feel that a penalty is happening too often, do keep in mind that smaller schools will usually have less disciplined players who are more prone to those mistakes. However, a few areas could use some tweaking.

Here are our realistic penalties sliders for College Football 25:

  • Offside: 60
  • False Start: 60
  • Offensive Holding: 52
  • Facemask: 55
  • Illegal Block in the Back: 50
  • Roughing the Passer: 45
  • Defensive Pass Interference: 50
  • Ineligible Receiver Downfield: On
  • Offensive Pass Intereference: On
  • Kick Catch Interference: On
  • Intentional Grounding: Off
  • Roughing the Kicker: Off
  • Running int othe Kicker: Off
  • Illegal Contact: On

We've chosen to turn off Roughing the Kicker and Running into the Kicker particularly because CPU players on lower rated teams seem to get unnecessarily aggressive in block attempts that trigger it too often, but feel free to turn it back on if you want that possibility active. Intentional Grounding has also been turned off as players have noticed it rarely gets called in the game even when turned on, and turning it off has helped create more realistic CPU QB play in recent Madden games.

XP Sliders

Lastly, there are XP Sliders you can use in Dynasty or Road to Glory which will impact player progression on a broad scale for both your own team and other CPU controlled teams. We're using XP Sliders similar to the ones made by DangerousFeeling with a few tweaks, but some players may prefer to avoid these altogether. If you're already deep in a Dynasty or Road to Glory save and used to the existing XP progression, it's probably best to leave them alone.

If you do wanna make some adjustments, here are our realistic XP Sliders for College Football 25:

  • Quarterbacks: 160
  • Halfbacks: 110
  • Tight Ends: 180
  • Wide Receivers: 100
  • Full Backs: 120
  • Tackles: 90
  • Guards: 80
  • Centers: 92
  • Defensive Ends: 90
  • Defensive Tackles: 120
  • Middle Linebackers: 80
  • Outside Linebackers: 90
  • Cornerbacks: 110
  • Free Safeties: 180
  • Strong Safeties: 200
  • Kickers: 100
  • Punters: 100

That wraps up our College Football 25 Realistic Sliders, but remember that you can reset to default or make your own tweaks at any time. When you do make edits, try not to go too far away from default or existing values as large changes for some sliders can have a ripple effect on the game. As the year goes on, tuning in each College Football 25 update may also make it best to reset to default, tweak your own settings, or look for recently updated sliders in the Download Center.
