Late in your character creation for a new quarterback in Road to Glory, you'll stumble upon the setting to choose a QB Style for your player in College Football 25. They're similar, but small differences could make one much better for some players.

First, here is every QB Style you can choose in College Football 25:

  • Over the Top 1
  • Over the Top 2
  • Over the Top 3
  • Over the Top 4
  • Over the Top 5
  • Three Quarters 1
  • Three Quarters 2
  • Three Quarters 3
  • Lower Three Quarters 1
  • Lower Three Quarters 2
  • Over the Top 6
  • Over the Top 7
  • Three Quarters 4
  • Three Quarters 5

Scrolling through these can make comparing two difficult, and you'll have to keep in mind that factors like player rating, height, and abilities will have far more impact than your base throwing motion. If we look at some of the highest rated quarterbacks in the game, these are their QB styles:

  • Shedeur Sanders - Over the Top 7
  • Carson Beck - Over the Top 4
  • Dillon Gabriel - Three Quarters 2
  • Quinn Ewers - Over the Top 5
  • Jalen Milroe - Three Quarters 1

That being said, if you want what could be the best QB style in College Football 25, it's best to aim for speed. We've taken all 14 QB styles and attempted to time the very tiny differences in how long each takes. These timing attempts were aiming for the moment where the quarterback's hands are about to lower and go into the throwing motion to the frame when their arm begins to lower out of the release.

In our testing, the fastest QB styles that came in at roughly 16 frames for the motion were Over the Top 2, Over the Top 3, Three Quarters 3, Lower Three Quarters 2, and Three Quarters 4. These all timed at nearly identical durations, but personally Over the Top 2 and Over the Top 3 feel slightly faster than the others. When choosing Archetype, the Field General QB defaults to Over the Top 3, Scrambler defaults to Over the Top 2, and Improviser defaults to Lower Three Quarters 2.

On the other end, the slowest with about 19 frames for the motion seemed to be Over the Top 4, Three Quarters 2, and Three Quarters 5. While these did feel like they took a hair longer, a difference of about three frames for a 30 FPS clip is about one-tenth of a second. It's a very tiny change, but players who want the best QB style in College Football 25 should go with their favorite motion from the fastest ones we outlined above.
