The International is without doubt the biggest esport event in the world, with pros competing for tens of millions of dollars and TI being the focal point of their entire year.
Now, all 18 teams have been confirmed for the event, which has already reached over $29 million total prize pool with more than a month left to raise this total.
Let's take a look at the teams that will be in attendance and potentially walking away with the biggest prize pool in esports history.
Invited teams
These teams are the top 12 teams in the Dota Pro Circuit and are thus inviting automatically to the event:
- Team Secret
- Virtus.Pro
- Vici Gaming
- Evil Geniuses
- Team Liquid
- PSG.LGD
- Fnatic
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- TNC Predator
- OG

Last year's winners, OG, will be looking to repeat the feat and become the first team to do so. However, there are a number of teams that will be expecting to win ahead of them; Team Secret are arguably the favourites but sides such as Vici Gaming, Team Liquid and Virtus.Pro will all be challenging for the top spot, the Aegis of Champions.
The level of prestige associated with winning this tournament is unparalleled in esports, this one tournament making the winners (and even those that don't win) multi-millionaires. It is proof to many that esports isn't just a career, it's a legitimate money-spinner, and hundreds of thousands will be tuning in when the event takes place from August 15-25 in Shanghai's Mercedes-Benz Arena.
