The wait is over for Dota 2 fans as Valve has finally released the Crownfall Act IV update, the epic finale of a multi-part saga that has captivated players since its launch in mid-April. This update not only concludes the Crownfall storyline but also introduces a new hero, Kez, marking one of the most extensive releases for the game in recent years.
Act IV, titled The Spires of Skywrath, brings players to the heart of the Skywrath kingdom, where Princess Shen returns to claim her throne after being betrayed by her younger sister, Imperia. Shen’s journey has been an emotional saga, guided by the powers of the Vengeful Spirit, and culminating in an all-or-nothing battle with Imperia in the infamous Nest of Thorns.
Meanwhile, Kez, the new Dota 2 hero, joins this climactic battle as a formidable warrior with a unique playstyle that blends his Kazurai Katana and Shodo Sai for versatile combat abilities. He was initially introduced to players in Act III, where he played a supporting role in the frigid landscapes of Icewrack.
Now a fully playable character, Kez’s arrival has been met with excitement, offering players more strategic options to tackle Crownfall's challenges. Players who purchased Pathfinder packs can once again look forward to exclusive Act IV rewards, such as limited edition Crownfall-themed towers and the highly coveted Crownfall character stickers.
For those just beginning their Crownfall adventure, Valve has ensured accessibility by keeping previous acts available until Jan. 15, 2025, allowing newcomers ample time to explore the storyline from its origins to this climactic end. Players are also encouraged to use their Crownfall Coins and complete remaining quests as the event’s close draws near.
