The last PlayStation Showcase featured new projects from studios globally and provide more insight into upcoming releases. With PSVR2 games also included in the presentation, there was a lot of hope for a few surprising reveals and remake news - specifically Dino Crisis - yet no announcement was in store.
Still, Dino Crisis is in dire need of either a new entry, and it was almost a possibility at the State of Play last year. Fans have been wondering since then if we're going to get any news regarding a remake for a long time now. So, we've found our hiding spot and finally determined whether a long-awaited Dino Crisis Remake will be announced at Summer Game Fest 2023.
Is The Dino Crisis Remake Going To Be At The PlayStation Showcase?
If there's one game many players can agree on is that no plans for a Dino Crisis sequel or remake are highly criminal. Players who grew up with the earlier PlayStation consoles have pleaded with Capcom for years for a new Dino Crisis IP, as it's been almost 20 years since its last release.

Fans thought they almost got a new Dino Crisis IP during last year's PlayStation State of Play before Capcom pulled the rug revealing their upcoming third-person shooter, Exoprimal. Due to the uncanny resemblances between Exoprimal and Dino Crisis, the internet was filled with plenty of comparison memes, venting and sheer disappointment.
While this still didn't deter from a possible Dino Crisis IP on the cards, the potential of an official teaser or announcement could finally be made at the Summer Game Fest 2023 on 9th June. This was mainly due to a Reddit thread that had gone viral as one eagle-eyed spotted what appeared to be a Facebook post by Shinji Mikami.
Mikami's post discussed a collaboration between Capcom, Platinum Games, and Tango Softworks on an upcoming project. Whether this post is authentic is unknown, but the post alludes to a "remake game," considering that Mikami was instrumental in the Resident Evil and Dino Crisis games.
A Resident Evil game announcement isn't reasonably expected to be announced since the Resident Evil 4 remake just came out; however, this has spurred up the possibility once again for Capcom to finally bring Dino Crisis to current-gen consoles. Nevertheless, Capcom has stated on a few occasions that they won't be developing a Dino Crisis project before reverting their comments.
In addition, the studio had promised fans that they'd begin to work on their "dormant intellectual properties" following the success of Devil May Cry 5, Monster Hunter, and the recent Resident Evil ports; there may be a glimmer of hope for a Dino Crisis Remake given the green light.
As we approach the start of the Summer Game Fest 2023, we'll endeavor to provide more news and updates once provided and confirmed by Capcom.
