Diablo 4 Seneschal Companion: How To Unlock & Upgrade

In Diablo 4 Season 3 (Season of the Construct), players finally have access to companions in the form of a spider-ish mech creature called Seneschal, which they will want to unlock and upgrade as quickly as possible as the main progression mechanic.

Let's discuss how you can unlock Seneschal Companions in Diablo 4 Season 3 and the ways you can upgrade and enhance their abilities.

How To Unlock Diablo 4 Seneschal Companions

Players are able to "wield the power of the Loom" and unlock their very own Seneschal Companion, a creature that will be with you throughout all content in Diablo 4 Season 3! To unlock the Seneschal Companion, you will follow the Seasonal Questline and help the infamous Zoltun Kulle.

You'll unlock these Seneschal Companions very early on in the questline after finding a broken Seneschal and getting it repaired. Simply travel to Kehjistan and then follow the quest to Gatehall, a new underground town hub, then unlock this seasonal feature. Blizzard explains:

Wield the power of the Loom by acquiring your very own Seneschal Companion, which becomes available during the Seasonal Questline. In Zoltun’s vision the Seneschal compliments your adventures by engaging directly in the fight or aiding you dutifully on the sidelines.

Please note: You have to create a seasonal character to unlock Seneschal Companions in Diablo 4 Season 3, as this feature is not available on the Eternal Realm.

How To Upgrade Diablo 4 Seneschal & Increase Power

There are multiple ways to upgrade your Seneschal Companions in Diablo 4 Season 3 and increase their powers. First up, players can add two (2) Governing and six (6) Tuning Stones to their companion for powerful abilities and enhancements, increasing their power and output for your specific build.

Governing Stones determine which attacks your Seneschal can perform, while Tuning Stones will augment those skills and provide greater utility. There are 12 Governing Stones and 27 Turning Stones to find and customize your Seneschal Companion with. The best way to find Tuning Stones for your Seneschal Companion in Diablo 4 Season 3 is by completing Vaults, while Governing Stones are found during the Seasonal Questline.

You can also upgrade your Stones to further increase your Seneschal Companion's power. Players must either craft or loot the same Stones and fuse them together to upgrade to a higher level. Blizzard explains:

To unlock the full power of the Stones, you will need to increase their raw power by leveling them. Collect or craft duplicates of the same Stones, fuse them together to grant experience and eventually level up your currently held Stones. Increasing the level of these stones increases the potency and ability of these attacks. Increasing the level of your Tuning Stones can add additional projectiles or augment the damage type they perform.
