With the release of the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion not only comes a brand-new story and the region of Nahantu, filled with new content such as quests, Mercenaries, and even Runewords. No, that's not all, as Blizzard is frontloading a lot of content, even releasing Diablo 4 Season 6 (Season of Hatred Rising) at the same time.

That's where a new Elixir type, called Seething Opals, comes into play, and you can earn them throughout Season 6. Take a seat, Nephalem, as we'll explain what Seething Opals are, how you get them, and their cost/effects.

Huge new bosses spawn every 15 minutes in Diablo 4 Season 6 in any of the base-game regions (and one in the new region every hour). These are called Realmwalkers, and once they are defeated, a red portal opens up.

Players venture into these new dungeons (the Seething Realm) and blow their way through until they reach a Realm Gate, as per the image above. At the Realm Gate, you will select the Seething Opal type you want as a reward, then enter the Realm Gate and complete the Seething Realm Dungeon to get this new Elixir type via the Seething Wellspring.

Please note:Seething Opal of Torment can only be acquired while you’re playing on Torment Difficulty I or higher, and Seething Opal of Socketables is exclusive to the expansion.

Once you've survived Seething Realm, you'll earn a Seething Opal as a reward based on your selection at the aforementioned Realm Gate. There are five Seething Optals (4 for the base game and 1 for the expansion) that you can earn. Check out their costs (at the Realm Gate) below.

  • Seething Opal of Equipment costs x25 Murmuring Obols
  • Seething Opal of Materials costs x5 Murmuring Obols
  • Seething Opal of Torment costs x200 Sigil Powder
  • Seething Opal of Gold costs x1 Iron Chunk
  • Seething Opal of Socketables costs x3 Angelbreath

Seething Opal effects lasts a baseline of 30 minutes. All of them increase your experience gain by 15%, and kills earn you Zakarum Remnants' reputation. Each Seething Opal also has an additional effect, which you can read below.

  • Seething Opal of Equipment: Enemies routinely drop additional Equipment.
  • Seething Opal of Materials: Enemies routinely drop additional Herbs and Crafting Materials.
  • Seething Opal of Torment: Enemies routinely drop additional Artificer's Stones and occasionally drop Boss Summoning items or Infernal Compasses.
  • Seething Opal of Gold: Enemies routinely drop additional gold.
  • Seething Opal of Socketables: Enemies routinely drop Gem Fragments and occasionally drop Runes.

The Seething Opal of Socketables is only available to those who own the Vessel of Hatred expansion and are playing on Penitent Difficulty or higher in a Nahantu-based Seething Realm dungeon.
