Red-Cloaked Horror & Gileon’s Brew Returns For Limited Time in Diablo 4

Last year, Diablo 4's Midwinter Blight event ran over the Christmas season, ending on 2 January 2024. This year, however, it seems that the event, or at least the Red-Cloaked Horror and the Gileon's Brew elixir, is releasing and ending much, much earlier.

With Vessel of Hatred, you'll experience the season's grim cheer from 19 November to 2 December 2024. The Midwinter Square is back in Kyovashad, and you can interact with it to get a "powerful, one-time gift" that Blizzard urges players to use wisely. 

With the Midwinter Square being back in action, the Red-Cloaked Horror is appearing across Sanctuary yet again. This year, however, the Red-Cloaked Horror has a chance to spawn in a Helltide (instead of Hellborne), and we'll see Blightfiends spread their malice within Helltide ambushes.

A bit of lore text to get the blood flowing reads:

The demon of crimson dismemberment rallies their Blightfiend minions for another malicious assault on Sanctuary’s denizens. Will you rise to the task and thwart their frozen grasp on the realm?

The Red-Cloaked Horror also has a chance to spawn in Dungeons and Infernal Hordes, ambushing unsuspecting players. They'll also drop increased rewards in Helltides, Dungeons, and Infernal Hordes.

Gideon's Brew, however, is the biggest prize for slaying a Red-Cloaked Horror. Each kill of the pesky, hulking demon is guaranteed to get you an improved Gileon's Brew elixir to use. The elixir increases damage dealt by 20% and XP gain by 15%. Furthermore, enemies routinely drop extra crafting materials and herbs.

Those who love to farm Helltides will be happy to know that Gileon's Brew can also drop from Tortured Gifts in Helltides, but this drop is not guaranteed. The effects last 30 minutes.
