Destiny 2 Telesto Secret Community Event Explained

If you are wondering what is happening with the Telesto weapon in Destiny 2, we have the answer for you.
Destiny 2 Telesto Secret Community Event Explained

Destiny 2 has one of the most active gaming communities available. Bungie is constantly updating the game, bringing new weapons for players to enjoy. But with so many updates, the game is often riddled with bugs.

Take for example, the Telesto. This gun is often bugged out and is constantly in need of hotfixes. It often happens because of how many events are in the game. In Destiny 2, the Telesto seems to be bugged again. But is it actually bugged, or is something else going on with the Telesto?

What Is The Telesto Bug?

Right now, it seems like the Telesto is bugged for players who want to use it. Players who use the gun will end up shooting sparks that look like fireworks out of the gun, and they float up. This prevents players from using the gun normally to take down enemies or other players.

This would not be shocking if this were somehow an actual bug that players are experiencing. There is even an online tracker created by fans to tell players when was the last time the Telesto was bugged in Destiny 2.

But this time seems different. The Telesto bugged can actually be fixed manually in-game. Players need to hold the reload button to make their character slap the Telesto. Doing so will return the gun to normal operation.

Is There A Secret To The Current Telesto Bug?

Could there be a hidden easter egg hidden within the Telesto bug that players are experiencing? (Picture: Bungie)

Simply put, this does not seem like a normal bug in Destiny 2. It is far too detailed to be an accidental bug.

Not only does the gun create sparks like fireworks in Destiny 2, but players can actually slap the gun like an old television to fix the gun back to regular operation. That level of detail is very likely not accidental.

Perhaps this is a nod to the community that Bungie is teasing themselves for having the Telesto bugged so often. Other players are suspecting that there is a deeper meaning to the Telesto bug. Players are claiming that they see constellations when they see the Telesto fire the fireworks out of the nozzle.

On the official Destiny 2 Twitter, the account made this Tweet:

It seems like the Telesto is becoming sentient and is going to be part of a major event in Destiny 2. So it is safe to say that Bungie intentionally created this bug for this event.
