Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted nears its conclusion as Bungie switches gears to kick off its annual summer event: Solstice of Heroes. As always, fans can expect to complete new event challenges, unlock a new seal, earn a new title, and gain exclusive rewards.
This year's Solstice of Heroes event will be different in a few ways. For instance, Bungie has renamed the event simply "Solstice." In addition, the new Event Card system changes how players unlock new rewards. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Solstice event in Destiny 2, including its start time, rewards, and more.
Destiny 2 Solstice 2022 - Start Date And Time
The Solstice event in Destiny 2 will start on 19th July 2022 at 6 pm BST | 10 am PT | 1 pm ET following the Weekly Reset. Accordingly, the event will conclude on 16th August 2022. This means that players will have plenty of time to complete all the event challenges and claim all the exclusive new rewards.
Destiny 2 Solstice 2022 - Rewards And Activities
In it's latest TWAB, Bungie has given us our first look at this year's Solstice armor set for every class. There's also the new Solstice-exclusive Hand Cannon, though we haven't gotten a glimpse of it yet. However, thanks to a leak, we know that this new Hand Cannon is highly reminiscent of the Better Devils Hand Cannon though we don't know what it's called yet.

Unlike before, players can only earn these new armor pieces by completing event challenges rather than by completing armor objectives and collecting keys and package consumables.

Every player can get an Event Card from Eva Levante in the Tower, comprising event information like Event Challenges, Event Seals and Titles, and Event Rewards. As expected, these Event Cards will expire once the event ends.
Completing Event challenges will not just grant progression towards the new Solstice Armor but also reward players with new event shaders, emblems, and event tickets.
Like every year, players can also purchase Solstice-themed cosmetics from the Eververse store. However, this time, Bungie is making a selection of these cosmetics earnable via an Upgraded Event Card; this will cost 1000 Silver and comprise rewards worth over 3000 Silver.
Upgraded Event Card Rewards
In addition, purchasing the Upgraded Event Card will also instantly give players an Exotic reward bundle with the following cosmetics:
- Hot Dog Eating Champ (Exotic Emote)
- Sunny Exotic Ghost Shell (Exotic Ghost Shell)
- Iris Gossamer (Legendary Shader)
As for the other Upgraded Event Card rewards, players can unlock those via the Event Tickets they earn by completing Event Challenges. Here are some of the rewards players can unlock from the Event Tickets:
- Skateboarding Emote (Legendary Emote)
- TBD (Legendary Ghost Hologram)
- TBD (Exotic Ship)
- TBD (Legendary Ghost Hologram)
TBD (Legendary Transmat FX)
European Aerial Zone
Finally, the European Aerial Zone (EAZ) is coming back and will add a new activity called Bonfire Bash.
According to Bungie, "Guardians will be building and stoking what can only be described as "para-causal bonfires" while the enemies of summer fun (including the Taken, Cabal, Hive, and Fallen) will be attempting to crash the party and extinguish the fires."
Bungie plans to reveal more info on Bonfire Bash close to the launch of the Solstice event.
That's everything we know about the upcoming Destiny 2 Solstice event. We will endeavor to update you regarding any further developments.
